@chrisfenwick If you enjoyed The West Wing, definitely check out The Diplomat - first season now up on Netflix. The writing is equivalent and its themes and references are very much “today” - plus being cable instead of broadcast, the character relationship stuff is quite realistic.
@Jerad_Huep @krassenstein You’ve clearly never been to the border. Hundreds of thousands of cars, trucks and vans cross the borders every single hour. Heck, my wife’s hairdresser lives in Tijuana and works in San Diego daily. “Sealing the border” is a pipe dream political talking point. Period.
@chrisfenwick@Oakland Either bike or wheelchair access? I bet the final graphics help it all make sense. I was in an “under construction” distribution center that had similar markings. When the painting was complete, a maze of bi-directional pedestrian and forklift lanes were apparent.
@DoctorMcGill@Olivianuzzi That’s how you explain Hilliary getting 5 million more votes than Trump? Then Biden getting 6million more than Trump? Democrats seem to actually do just fine in actually getting more votes. Gerrymandering makes the only real difference.
@pressreset @restlesspix @sophiasgaler@LumberjackSys If you think “broadcast tv” is still the future - sticking with track-based NLEs like Premiere is fine. OTOH I find FCP’s database-driven magnetic assembly approach way more future-focused and I’m 4x faster to delivery in FCP than I was using tracked systems. Food for thought.
@VickerySec I think it’s so cute when people imagine their private stuff is important enough that any other entity would spend a nanosecond of effort trying to monitor and listen to them. Nobody cares about monitoring “you” - only trends and mass behavior predictives. The money is there.
@dmspeech The big difference is in those days, there wasn’t a huge “victimization media industry” pumping out the 24/7 message that government is causing all our problems. Regan/Atwater Republicanism elevated spreading fear over building community spirit to gain and hold power.
@chrisfenwick Plus... If my son gets sick, might it be heriditary? Oh yeah. His “mom” might not know. But his “birthing person’s” medical history might actually be relevant to save his life. Please stop listening to angry internet division merchants. They fix nothing.
@chrisfenwick Two different things. As an adoptive parent, is my sons “mother” my wife who spent those 20 years caring for him daily? Or the gal who understood that her trying to raise him would be a disaster? You tell me? Who gets their name on the school form to call if he gets sick? See?
@CBSNews@DavidBegnaud The gub-ment vaccine agenda is pretty widespread —- But nothing like their insidious plot to remove OUR TRASH from the curbside AND tricking us into accepting (chemically treated!) drinking water into our homes via pipes!! Rat bastards all of them!
@saradietschy 30 year pro here. OP is correct. More compression typically eliminates individual frames in favor of “groups of pictures” that only encode changes between groups. To edit, the computer has to decompress/recompress on the fly. Much harder on the computer.
@dddaily5@icedbrew2@jodi_geczi@mcuban Short sighted prattle. Yeah, the initial strains of Covid were of most risk to oldsters. But that’s EXACTLY why the experts wanted it wiped out prior to significant mutation. Welcome to Delta. “Feeing smart” about virology is Trump-ishly easy. Being actually smart? Not so much.
@Spinchange@Alex4D@DavidLublin Not sure that’s so true in the broader perspective. Yes, my video producing MacBook Pro sits at the top end of the cost spectrum - BUT 20 years ago my capabilities required an entire multi-million dollar TV facility. Is a $900 laptop vs a $3500 one really the same barrier?
@jcschmieder@MacFarlaneNews Yep, I totally remember Portland. But mostly the Wall of Moms with their arms linked trying to protect their kids from the Bureau of Prisons thugs that Trumps team imported — which pretty much ALL the actual duly elected local municipal authorities were dead set against.
I never thought I would become a single issue voter, but I have. The issue is democracy. I’m for it. I remain in disbelief that this is the reality of 2020 America.
@tylermccool@FCPdotCO My friend Steve Martin of Ripple training has worked with 2 large screen arrangements just like that in Demos at NAB AND in their training videos. But again, the point in the Apple demo was to show that the Silicon Air has plenty of grunt to do two screen 4K with ease.
@tylermccool@FCPdotCO You don’t “got it” at all. X is a modal interface designed for highly efficient laptop “single screen” editing when that is required, but which auto-detects additional screens as they are available and scales it’s interface as needed. Here’s my edit rig. Few limits.
