The storm has passed, THUNDR has concluded! Exciting things happened in the bracket, like the up and coming German fox AlwaysAirways upsetting RestlessWhale early in the bracket and RestlessWhale making a massive losers run afterwards. Ultimately, @skullbro weathered the storm.
Thank you to all the participants for coming.
Thank you to all the TO's and volunteers for making this tournament come to life
SPECIAL thanks to @tata_ssbm for running the kitchen and making the event feel special

Not sure why people blindly believe this but I never mained Fox lol. I've been a Pikachu main since day 1.
On paper you would think that if I put more time into a high tier, I would be a better player. But in practice it didn't turn out that way.
For the first ~10 years of my career, I spent much more time playing Falco than any other character. But when I entered tournaments, he couldn't perform to the heights of my Pikachu. I spent an absurd amount of time grinding out Fox as well, but for whatever reason my Pikachu still performed better even though I didn't play him as much.
Eventually I leaned into playing Pikachu a lot more and I think he's the character I have the highest potential with. It might sound crazy because he's a lower tier, but sometimes you have to be the one to write the book if it's something you believe in. Years ago I sort of carried him from near bottom tier to high-mid tier, and I think he can go higher thanks to the other amazing Pikachu players that exist now.
There is definitely still a use for other characters as secondaries though. I don't think all of the time I put into practicing them was meaningless. They help in certain matchups, whether against certain characters, stages, or specific players.
But to those saying I would be a better player if I just stuck to a high tier the whole time, I personally think that's wrong even though it might seem right on paper. I think certain people just have a knack for obscure characters and different mechanics that the current top tiers don't provide, and I happen to be one of those people.

@Kipkin_ssb So yea, my favorite out of all of them was the LBX. but that is discontinued so tough luck there.
I now have a heavy frame 1 on the way with the board swapped for nerfware. Hopefully that one will work..
In 2025 I went from 1 working box, to 4 broken boxxes. All malfunctioning in different ways. Despite that I still decided to keep showing up. Even though I knew my results would dwindle. Proud of myself for that! I'm certain I'll bounce back when I get this shit sorted 😎
EURank 2025 will start releasing right now, as today we present ranks 50 to 41 - featuring a number of veterans and newcomers!
Remember that we will continue to show 10 players every day this week at 18:00 UTC, up to the Top 10 release on Friday.
Read up below:
@Kipkin_ssb OF1; Bought this after the lbx stopped working on pc. It arrived slightly bent in the mail and the housing was chipped on 2 corners.
Some of the switches keep losing contact while playing. For example; im holding the shield button but my shield flickers on and off
The Dutch Melee Power Rankings of 2025 are here! Congrats to everyone who made it 👊
Panel: nago, noon, Noxxa, Nuckels, Rabbitalex, RestlessWhale, rua
Shoutouts to @Salevits for the artwork!
Also, big shoutouts to everyone that worked on getting another top 50 EURank. Especially to @NoxxaPlus for the very nice blurb and all the work they put into structuring all the statistics of EU melee ♥️
