BREAKING: A NetJets Cessna 680 Citation Latitude (N523QS) crashed on a highway while attempting an emergency landing near Laredo International Airport, Texas.

The aircraft had diverted to Laredo after declaring an emergency while en route from Los Cabos, Mexico, to Austin, Texas.

Authorities report 1 fatality and 5 injuries among the 6 occupants on board. No injuries were reported on the highway despite the crash occurring during the aircraft's approach, approximately 4 km south of Laredo International Airport.

The accident occurred around 10 p.m. local time.

ALERT: US Coast Guard jumps onto a runaway boat and safely stops it in Maryland.

Authorities say the man operating the vessel suddenly fell overboard, and the Coast Guard had to intercept and stop the boat.

The incident has raised awareness among boat operators to wear their engine shut-off clip lanyards, which are required by federal law on most boats under 26 feet.

🚒Engine firefighters provide all-risk emergency response (structure fires, medical aid, hazmat), in addition to responding to wildfires. CAL FIRE engines are staffed with three or four firefighters.

🔨Hand crew firefighters are primarily used during wildfires to cut fireline — clearing vegetation down to bare dirt to help slow or stop a fire’s advance. When not assigned to active wildfires, hand crews also support fuels reduction work by thinning overgrown vegetation in targeted areas.
