IMF rated India’s data “C” largely because our base year is still 2011–12. BTW, it also gave "C" to China for the same reason.

The Modi govt is already updating it to 2022–23 and the moment this happens, the same liberals will scream that the base year was changed to “manipulate” data.

These were the same people who opposed updating the base year to 2011–12 and wanted to cling to the outdated 2004–05 base.

Had we listened to them, the IMF would’ve rated India “D”, not “C”. And guess what, they would still blame Modi for that, too.
