Menopause is such a fun little season of life
You're exhausted by 2 PM, wide awake at 3 AM, overstimulated by group texts, mysteriously puffier than yesterday, your brain clocks out mid-sentence, and you are one chewing sound away from a felony.
I love that for us
😔
For some its the most amazing day in USA but for others its a sad day of loss.
The Lubbe family has lost a loved one, the breadwinner of the house. The pillar of strength. The Super Hero dad.
Please if you can share a condolence so rheu can see it on my post, share a buck or 2 and if you want to you can help with food or anything else. They are in Turlock, California.
A message from the daughter of a lost father:
"Our family is facing the most difficult time of our lives after the heartbreaking loss of my father. What was meant to be a heart bypass surgery turned into a devastating tragedy. After the surgery, his heart and lungs gave out. Blood filled his lungs, and his heart could no longer keep beating. Despite every effort to save him, he passed away.
He leaves behind my mother, my 5-year-old brother, my 2-year-old sister, and me.
My father was everything to our family. He was our provider, protector, source of strength, and the person we depended on every day. His loss has left a hole in our lives that can never be filled, and we are heartbroken as we face life without him.
We are raising funds to help our family with essential living expenses, including rent, food, gas, and other everyday necessities as we try to navigate life without him. Every donation, no matter the amount, will help provide stability for my younger siblings and ease some of the burden as we grieve and adjust to this new reality.
If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing our story and keeping our family in your prayers. We are deeply grateful for every act of kindness, support, and compassion.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping our family through this unimaginable loss."
God bless the 🇺🇸 and happy flag day

@Amy_Siskind Like maybe he could create something that people who’ve lost use of their bodies could control a robot with their mind so they could have some autonomy. That would be cool of him.
@SkylarSkye3 Don’t take it as a challenge. Also at restaurants you can drink water for free. When I was in Italy, it was cheaper to drink wine than water. I may have taken it as a challenge.
@LeahRay44 There are many places that have filtered water bottle filters. If you are staying somewhere that has a gym, they probably have bottled water or filtered water in there for free. Otherwise buy from a grocery store.
There is nothing he can do to bring down housing costs. Also, that is not his responsibility. He is creating amazing things that improve lives for all of humanity. If you took all his wealth and redistributed it to try to help poor people, we would lose out on everything he creates and no one would actually be better off. The government has been proving this for decades.
@LeahRay44@BlackFenelon But you have to have one there to go next door. We had to have a passport at every hotel we stayed at in Europe. Here you don’t need one. How many Brits have traveled beyond Europe? Isn’t this your first time in the US?
@LeahRay44 You could try not paying. But don’t be surprised when your credit card gets charged twice as much as the fine amount in about 8 months. Also, you should probably check with someone when you park. If you’re going to a game and you find a spot, it is likely illegal.
@CynicalPublius Why even have the run off? We already know they have chosen Bass and Ramen’s just there to ensure it isn’t Pratt. Going through with the farce just wastes time and money.
@rooftopdrew I appreciate you not wanting to leave, but how do you fight for it? Voting seems irrelevant. They will do what they want with elections, you have no voice.
@WarlordDilley@catturd2 It must be very frustrating to vote in CA. It’s painfully obvious that your vote doesn’t matter at all. They will orchestrate the outcome they want and there’s nothing you can do about it.
HISTORY LESSON ON YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY CARD:
Just in case some of you young whippersnappers (& some older ones) didn’t know this. It’s easy to check out, if you don’t believe it. Be sure and show it to your family and friends. They need a little history lesson on what’s what and it doesn’t matter whether you are Democrat or Republican. Facts are FACTS.
Up until the 1980's, Social Security cards expressly stated the number and card were not to be used for identification purposes.
Since nearly everyone in the United States now has a number, it became convenient to use it anyway and the "NOT FOR IDENTIFICATION" message was removed.
Franklin Roosevelt, a Democrat, introduced the Social Security (FICA) Program. His promises are in black, with updates in brackets.
1.) That participation in the Program would be completely voluntary [No longer voluntary],
2.) That the participants would only have to pay 1% of the first $1,400 of their annual Incomes into the Program [Now 7.65% on the first $90,000, and 15% on the first $90,000 if you’re self-employed],
3.) That the money the participants elected to put into the Program would be deductible from their income for tax purposes each year [No longer tax deductible]
4.) That the money the participants put into the independent ‘Trust Fund’ rather than into the general operating fund, and therefore, would only be used to fund the Social Security Retirement Program, and no other Government program [Under Johnson the money was moved to the General Fund and spent]
5.) That the annuity payments to the retirees would never be taxed as income [Under Clinton & Gore up to 85% of your Social Security can be taxed].
Since many of us have paid into FICA for years and are now receiving a Social Security check every month — and then finding that we are getting taxed on 85% of the money we paid to the Federal government to ‘put away’ — you may be interested in the following.
Q: Which Political Party took Social Security from the independent ‘Trust Fund’ and put it into the general fund so that Congress could spend it?
A: It was Lyndon Johnson and the democratically controlled House and Senate.
Q: Which Political Party eliminated the income tax deduction for Social Security (FICA) withholding?
A: The Democratic Party.
Q: Which Political Party started taxing Social Security annuities?
A: The Democratic Party, with Al Gore casting the ‘tie-breaking’ deciding vote as President of the Senate, while he was Vice President of the US
AND MY FAVORITE:
Q: Which Political Party decided to start giving annuity payments to immigrants?
A: That’s right! Jimmy Carter and the Democratic Party. Immigrants moved into this country, and at age 65, began to receive Social Security payments!
The Democratic Party gave these payments to them, even though they never paid a dime into it!
Now, after violating the original contract (FICA), the Democrats turn around and tell you that the Republicans want to take your Social Security away!
And the worst part about it is uninformed citizens believe it!
If enough people receive this, maybe a seed of awareness will be planted and maybe changes will evolve. Maybe not, though.
Some Democrats are awfully sure of what isn’t so but it’s worth a try.
How many people can YOU send this to?
I’d be happy about that. Actually, I would be thrilled to do a one for one swap with Americans that hate our country because “oppression”. SA refugees will make way better Americans.
Im glad @Jason2bartlett is getting a chance to speak up. He is well spoken and knows exactly what is happening here in South Africa. I'm sure if he is cool and calm he might woo President Trump to push the cap number up just a little bit more. Say 100 000. 😆
