E-dating is unfortunately, mostly, a way for the anti-social and lonely to find some semblance of companionship without the uncomfortable aspects that come with finding a partner in real life.

You don't have to leave your house, don't have to be social, and rejection has very little consequence. Often times even the people who say they want to eventually meet the person they're E-dating put it off perpetually or never have the intention in the first place, because that would defeat the point, wanting the cake and eating it too. Finding love without having to work for it.

So what they end up with is a shallow form of companionship, something that could never truly cure your loneliness because people yearn for human touch and physical connection. It's romantic escapism.

Sometimes people find the person they love online and the relationship works out, but those odds are so insanely small you're better off just working on yourself and putting yourself out there.
