We have spent the afternoon learning about and celebrating Chinese New Year. We had a parent who came in and spoke to use about the traditions and the stories around Chinese New Year. We made red lanterns, tigers, tossed noodles and took part in a dragon dance.π²π―
We had a fantastic Friday 'GOING GREEN'. We created a recycling bin to support the @UNICEF_uk outright campaign! We thought of ways that we can help to protect our planet! We wrote our names on our bin to make a promise to recycle paper. ππ #article24#article6#article12
We have enjoyed exploring maps and compass points in our first @nowpressplay session. Year 1 thoroughly enjoyed themselves and were eager to know when they would have another opportunity to do it again.
Year 1 have really enjoyed our Art enrichment this half term. We have explored natural sculptures and created our own in the style of Andy Goldsworthy. ππ¨
We have had a wonderful afternoon with Miss Moore. We have enjoyed completing observational drawings of natural objects and leaf rubbings. We cannot wait for next week!
We have enjoyed learning about the importance of being healthy and how we can stay healthy. We were also able to see what 2kg of fat would be like inside our bodies. We were very surprised!

The Year 1 children have enjoyed learning all about Fairtrade this week. We discussed what it is and why it is important. Then, we designed posters, Fairtrade symbols and used different Fairtrade produce to create patterns. βοΈπππ₯₯π½
We have had fantastic week learning all about Chinese New Year! We have read the Chinese Zodiac story, created Chinese New Year posters and we have used our measuring skills to make Chinese dragons. We cannot wait for our quiz this afternoon to showcase what we have learnt.
