We are scientists. We enjoyed exploring micro habitats in our school grounds. We lifted stones and logs, looked into cracks, observed closely in the piles of leaves. We recorded what we found and what the conditions were like e.g. damp, dark, dry, warm.
We are Frome Vale Citizens. We visited some important boards around the school: manners, safeguarding, attendance and e-safety. We highlighted key information and reminded each other about how to keep ourselves safe and be good citizens.
Today saw the completion of our new Frome Vale Mural designed and painted by one of our parents, Alex Dimond, and reflecting our community https://t.co/R3O6c9eeM5

We are musicians. Our final composition of the day was to write additional verses for a song. We had to create lyrics, play around with word order to fit the rhythm and it also had to rhyme! A tricky task but we wrote many new verses and enjoyed singing them as part of the song.
We are musicians. We read Giraffes Can’t Dance and then composed a melody that we thought could be the music Gerald hears when he is dancing in the moonlight. We performed each other’s compositions using handbells. Our scores showed the handbell pitch, rhythms and dynamics.
We are musicians. Our first composition of the day was rhythm. We used animal names to create rhythms and then performed each other’s pieces. We had to remember that bee had a duration of 2 beats.
We are musicians. Our music day started with a boom whacker warm up. Playing along to a song and playing the right boomwhacker at the right time. The focus is clear to see! Who doesn’t love boomwhackers?!
This week’s certificate winners. One is awarded by the teacher and the others are from our learning champions who noticed focus and resilience from these wonderful Frome Vale Citizens. Well done!
We are orators. We shared ideas on a theme and used thread to show a talk trail. Anyone who contributed was given the thread. To support each other to contribute, we practised key phrases used to invite someone to a conversation or to share ideas. Our talk trail grew after that!
