We loved learning all about water wheels and how they totally revolutionised industry in Sheffield 💧 and now we absolutely cannot wait to learn even more about Industrial Sheffield 🏭

We explored items including hot water bottles, hand whisks (then we got distracted and spoke about pancakes for a bit) chamber pots and even a bundle of sticks that Victorians would have used to brush their teeth! Yuck!

We tried our very best to copy the tricky handwriting on the mini tablets…chalkboard tablets, not the electronic type!

Then we had a little break to play some old school games 🪀🪁

Oh, not the red and white striped kind @SheffieldUnited …the stainless Sheffield steel kind! We made our own knives and stamped them with our maker’s mark 🍴

We loved using the Victorian irons and making sure that the fabric was perfectly ironed and folded before going to the tailors to be made into some new threads 🪡

What an action packed first few days over here in Yellow Class 💫 We have been enjoying our reading corner (we love Monty the monkey 🐒) and starting work in our brand new art sketch books 🎨 Roll on the rest of this half term 🎉
