To celebrate World Book Day, Year 3 spent time in our Nursery setting sharing books with the younger children. It was such a joy to watch.

This afternoon we carried out a soil investigation.
We used a key to identify soil types and weren't afraid to get stuck in! I wonder if you can tell anyone at home the name of the three soils we found?

So proud of Year 3 and 4 today.
They made their own party food (quite the spread) and then partied all afternoon.

This afternoon we used clay. We made coils, slip (a clay slurry) and a pinch pot. At the end of the lesson we combined these techniques to build our own beaker style pot. The children worked so hard!

Last week we went speed dating with books!
The children brought in their favourite books from home and had 2 minutes to share with a friend.
It was an absolute joy watching their faces light up as they shared their love of books!

After a series of lessons on colour and colour theory, the children spent the afternoon applying their skills and knowledge. They were so proud of what they produced :-)

Internet safety.
Year 3 were a very tough jury.
All guilty defendants were given the maximum prison sentence!

We crept to the forest school carefully so not to disturb any wooly mammoths, completed our task in character and then followed our leaders safely back to class.

The children were so excited when I told them we were going to spend some time in the new library and all gave it a big thumbs up. It was a joy to watch them carefully select and get lost in a new books.
