We have finished our Food DT unit.
Our end outcome was to create a balanced 3 course meal.
To do this, we prepared fruit and cheese skewers, a healthy wrap/pitta and cookies and ice-cream for dessert.

In DT we are focussing on skills development. In our most recent lesson, we practiced our chopping, grating and peeling skills. We really enjoyed it and loved eating the healthy snacks afterwards 🥕🥒

Creating our #DT mood boards, whilst listening to Disney, has got us excited to start our new unit on Food this half term.

To complete our ‘Art of the World’ topic, which has been specifically inspired by Yayoi Kusama, we created our own infinity rooms and clay sculptures ♾
We also wanted to show our skills on paper, by creating ink drawings, using nothing but a black felt tip 🎃 #yayoikusama

Today we started our Area unit in #Maths. To introduce the concept, we covered objects around the classroom in post-it notes! Once the objects were covered, we counted how many post it notes it took, to find the area.

In PE, we are focussing on Health Related Fitness.

This week in #science we investigated how sound is produced by vibrations. We discovered that when we banged the drum, it’s skin vibrated, which made the paper jump around. The children were then able to clearly explain the link between vibrations and sound energy.

Today we focused on the difference between Literal and Inferential questions as part of our Reading Skills. The children came up with their own questions and answers, relating to an image, to show their understanding of the two types of questioning.

Yesterday, the children wrote their ambassador and school council speeches, explaining why they are right for the role.
This Morning, the new ambassadors were announced.
All of the speeches were amazing, every child should be very proud of themselves. 👏🏻
