#y6rdps loved learning about the Mauritania ship that was built at Swan Hunter’s in Wallsend. At the time, it was fantastic cruise ship in the world. Great artwork on show….🛳️🚢⚓️
Fantastic morning spent at the gallery in The Forum learning about local women in shipbuilding. The children loved to learn and ask questions about the lives of women who worked in the shipyards in Wallsend. After this, we walked along to see the site of Swan Hunters
@y6rdps explored how many people in our community come from different backgrounds. We discussed how people’s religion, skin colour and nationality is linked to the Declaration of Human Rights
@y6rdps learning about online safety and how we can use social media and different apps. We discussed screen time and how we need to be responsible with how and when we use this technology in our lives as there are many positives and negatives
@y6rdps enjoyed exploring our new local history topic of Shipbuilding in Wallsend. We explored the history of Swan Hunters and the different shipyards which were open in the local area
@y6rdps loved taking part in science morning on electricity. We explored static electricity and completed circuits. We are looking forward to learning more about electricity throughout this half term
