In transcript in previous post, you can see DA attempt to dispel the 1st of many lies by police. Politics & corruption plaque RI at least in public school & justice system so despite every unethical act of the police….mainly by ONE police captain, DA pretends it doesn’t exist.
In Rhode Island, police need a warrant to charge someone for misdemeanor crimes they don’t observe. To do so, they must convince a judge they have “probable cause”…..which is not a high threshold. But to strengthen their position, in this case, they decided to lie…
Means he was in the area, at the time and they never meant it to mean we see him committing the crime. Why not say the truth? Then one judge gets mad that we publicly accused the police of being crooked…the RI judges try to stifle defense attorneys!
Andy testified that a police captain was the first to address complaints when someone calls the police station FOR THE FIRST TIME. Later, we learn that Captain Andy was using his personal cell phone to text this same complainant…ummmm
Posting on social media has always been a chore but though rusty, I’ll get better as I share my story.
Take a look at the all white man who make up the leadership @warwickripd. They make no attempt to hide the fact that diversity isn’t their thing.
You’ll want to remember this guy. Andy is the guy who went out of his way to create a falsified subpoena, alter the police report and well…testified that he got involved because “while entering the police station, the secretary saw him on camera & randomly transferred a call.”
@RIACLU@warwickripd This guy here….John Malloy was the Special AG assigned to case. A former police Lt. himself in neighboring West Warwick, he was determined to shield ALL of @warwickripd misconduct. And sooo incompetent, he blatantly tried to violate my rights then apologized to avoid sanctions.
For almost 3 years, I got a taste of how @warwickripd manipulates people to accept plea deals after falsifying charges & police reports. But since I REFUSED, they used their pals in the RI AG’s office and scrolled thru various judges until they found a corrupt one…
@RIACLU@warwickripd I don’t need sympathy…unlike many others who look like me, I made it thru this with few bruises & in a much better position than I ever could’ve dreamed of. I will share my story of the two systems of justice that exists in America, where facts and evidence are disregarded.
Since my original court filing in September 2021, delays for various reasons (one related to COVID-19) has caused the scheduled hearing not to happen. Warwick PD must answer to their corruption.
An update with my recent filing with the Court attached. The gist…The US Supreme Court and RI Supreme Court have been clear…one’s right to a speedy trial is a fundamental right regardless of being free on bail or not. https://t.co/xwnqpFVdkS
@JohnDePetroshow@warwickripd I regret having to live in a place where there are different rules for male leaders of color. I regret families were destroyed. I regret the default verdict of "guilty." Well, at least the Police Major got a subsequent promotion to Captain.
@theappeal actually wrote about police prosecutors. RI veteran Judge Stephen Erickson is quoted describing how Warwick PD preys on citizens (who are disproportionately Black) as if their job is to use arrests to pump the economy. https://t.co/AC9A0K1MqS
Rhode Island uses police to prosecute misdemeanors normally but this case is special: they are spending taxpayer funds on 2 private practice lawyers to “try” and cover up their lies.
