Afghan women, children & men continue to be pushed out of countries where they had sought safety, forcing them to return to Afghanistan against their will & exposing them to grave risk.
@volker_turk calls on States to halt these involuntary returns.

Your work & dedication to protect our planet serves as an inspiration to us all.
From Afghanistan to the United Kingdom, Afghan women continue to prove their strength, leadership, and resilience.
The victories of Peymana Assad, Rabia Nasimi, and Shaheera Karimi are not just political wins, they are a powerful message to the world: Afghan women belong in leadership, in politics, and in every space where decisions are made.
At a time when millions of women and girls inside Afghanistan are being denied education, work, and public participation, Afghan women abroad are showing what becomes possible when women are given freedom and opportunity. Afghan women will not be erased.

PAKISTAN: Ali Wazir has spent nearly 20 months trapped in a cycle of arbitrary detention, repeat cases and re‑arrests designed to keep him behind bars.
On 16 March 2026, a court ordered his release. He was re‑arrested within hours. Since then, three new cases have been filed to prolong his detention.
This weekend, Ali Wazir went on a hunger strike inside Dadu Jail, to protest being denied urgent medical care despite suffering from diabetes, high blood pressure and a heart‑related condition.
