Police Activity (11:55 a.m.) at the Sycamore Apartments off Springfield Parkway, Fort Mill. SLED is investigating an officer-involved shooting during an Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) search warrant involving Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Enforcement Unit Officers. The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division - SLED will release more information when they can. No officers were physically injured. #YCSONews
UPDATE: (5-28-26 4:10 p.m.) Divers have recovered the person, life saving measures were unsuccessful. The incident is under investigation.

NEED TO ID: On May 15, 2026, between 2:19 and 2:22 am, the pictured individuals stole 3-12 pack cases of Modelo beer from QuikTrip (QT), 249 Carowinds Blvd., Fort Mill, SC. They left in a dark blue Hyundai Elantra. On May 17, 2026, between 3:20 and 3:25 am, another person stole 2-18 packs of Modelo beer and a 4-Loko from the same QT and left in the same suspect vehicle. Total loss $104.

UPDATE: (5-19-26 11:25 a.m.) Sadly, divers have recovered the missing person. The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources is investigating the incident, and the York County Coroner's Office is notifying the next of kin.

UPDATE: (5-19-26 9:30 a.m.) YCSO and South Carolina Department of Natural Resources divers are in the water. They are using sonar images to see because at 35 feet deep the water in Lake Wylie is pitch black.

UPDATE: (5-19-26, 8:50 a.m.) We are setting up to resume dive operations this morning around 9:30 a.m. The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources is the lead agency, and we are here to assist, along with the @YorkCountyOEM, Newport Fire Dept., City of Tega Cay, SC Fire Department, City of Tega Cay, SC Police Department, Carolina Dive and Rescue, and also Steele Creek Fire Dept.
The general search area is about 35-40 feet

UPDATE: (9:08 p.m.) As divers prepare to enter the water, the initial report came in: a person jumped off a boat, submerged, and did not resurface. The area is near Tega Cay close to the Catawba Dam. The area for the search is about 30 feet deep. SCDNR will be the investigating agency.
Missing Person Monday: On November 9, 1975, Sara Yvonne Griffin (Maiden Name Hancock) was last seen by her daughter getting into a white van owned by a family member. She went by the name Von. She had a small green suitcase with her. She called home later that night and let the kids know that she was okay, but has not been seen or heard from since. NEED TO ID: On March 21, 2026, at 12:32 p.m., the pictured individual entered Dollar Tree at 4078 Charlotte Hwy., Clover, SC. The male walked around the store for about 50 minutes before approaching an employee who was stocking the shelves. He asked her a question, and she observed that he had his pants and underwear pulled down, exposing himself to her. #YCSONews #CrimeStoppers
UPDATE: (4:05 a.m) SWAT is standing down, but Detectives will remain in the area while conducting a search warrant, in reference to an incident which took place yesterday.
