I'm 89 days out from my first 100-mile ultramarathon.

My wife and therapist asked me on the same day if I "run to find meaning."

1) I know that it fits within my calling to be a leader of men for Christ.

2) It staves off the “Big Sad” that whispers in my ear “your efforts are worthless.”

It's filled with heartbreak, happiness, and horror.

Hopelessness stems from misalignment between your identity and your day-to-day.

A means to an end is fine, as long as you're intentional about it staying that way.

Everything else I do because I'm too scared to chase the above with the passion they deserve
