Ironically it was Henry Dundas who played a major role in eliminating slavery in Scotland.

In Toronto they’re erasing his name from streets and squares. They’re renaming them to honour the Aken tribe of Ghana who coincidentally were major slave traders.

@overlandertheb1 Henry Dundas was responsible for introducing the 1784 Bill to restore Jacobite estates forfeited after the 1745 rebellion. Also the repeal of The Act of Proscription on 1 July 1782, a date that was celebrated in the Highlands as a return to cultural freedom.
