The Arab world, except for the UAE, of course, rushed to condemn Israel’s recognition of Somaliland.

We Arabs have never cared about Somalia. In fact, “Somalia” is used across the Arab world as shorthand for a failed state, and “Somali” is used as a slur to describe someone as weak or sickly. The country and its people have long been dismissed and marginalized and no Arab ever cared for it.

But now, because Israel, once again, is the only country willing to stand with those oppressed by the jihadists, the Arab world suddenly feels compelled to condemn it.

In any case, thank God that all these countries have virtually no real influence on anything.
