This little boy, Godwin Chijindu Ikeobi, a JSS1 student of Government College, Owerri, surprised me today.

Today he won first place in the Junior Category at the Mathematical Association of Nigeria (MAN) Imo State Chapter Olympiad exam.

He failed to qualify for the final round from Imo State for the 2026 South East Maths Olympiad and has been crying and depressed.

He attends a government school and felt he was disadvantaged. He was one of the reasons I deployed learning content for all participants in the 2027 South East Maths Olympiad for education equality.

He took the lessons seriously and has been studying them on his own daily. Today he has proven that your background cannot limit you if you are determined to succeed.

He beat all the private and public schools in Imo State today to attain that position.

In 1935, two American doctors examined seven women's ovaries and saw small lumps. They called them cysts and named the disease after them. They were wrong. It took 91 years to fix.

What we called PCOS is now Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS), announced today in The Lancet by an international panel of doctors and patients. The renaming followed more than a decade of consensus work and 22,000 patient and clinician survey responses.

The lumps Stein and Leventhal saw were never cysts. Modern imaging shows they were follicles, the tiny sacs inside the ovary that grow and release an egg each month, frozen partway through by a hormonal imbalance. PMOS is a multi-system disorder centered in the endocrine system, the body's network of glands that produces hormones like insulin (controls blood sugar), cortisol (the stress hormone), and thyroid hormones (set the body's metabolism). The ovary trouble flows downstream from there.

The naming choice is not academic. When doctors hear "ovary" in a diagnosis, they look at the ovary. "Metabolic" and "endocrine" send them to the whole body.

PMOS affects roughly 1 in 8 women worldwide, more than 170 million people. The WHO estimates 70% have never been diagnosed. Among those who do, 1 in 3 wait more than 2 years, and nearly half see 3 or more doctors first. The CDC reports more than half of women with PMOS develop type 2 diabetes by age 40, a risk 5 to 10 times higher than women without the condition. Around 37% have clinically significant depression, compared with 14% in women without it. Anxiety runs at 42% versus 8.5%.

A label born from a 1935 look at seven ovaries is finally going away. The new diagnostic guidelines roll out fully in 2028. By then, a woman walking into a clinic with these symptoms should hear questions about her blood sugar and her mood alongside her cycle. Those are the parts of the disease the old name hid for 91 years.

The reason the Global South has spent 500 years losing to a few people in the Global North despite being unfairly overpowered in terms of human and natural resources, and constituting nearly 70% of the earth's population, is that we do not understand their psychology of war.

We think war is a standalone event caused by specific situational factors. This is because war is not our default state of being, so "war" to us is always a temporary situation and a single point in time. Meanwhile to them, war is their *default* state of being. EVERYTHING is war to them. Even when nobody is shooting or bombing, they are still at war - and we have refused to understand this about them.

What they call "trade" is economic warfare.
What they call "business" is financial warfare.
What they call "investment" is strategic deployment of resources for warfare.
What they call "international relations and diplomacy" is war.
What they call "global cooperation and development partnership" is slavery and colonialism.
What they call "religion" is psychological and epistemic warfare.
What they call "I.T." is information warfare.
What they call "security" is war.
What they call "defense" is war.
What they call "peace" is when their enemy has been completely vanquished, like the Herero or the Native Americans - anything less is just war with extra steps.
What they call "Research" and "Academia" are pathways for finding out how to more effectively wage economic, biological, physical, or epistemic warfare.
What they call "entertainment" is mental programming and psychological warfare.

On the European planet, EVERYTHING is weaponised. There is no such thing as something that is too sacred for the Global North to wield as a weapon of war. Viral pathogens, food, medicine, water, 24-hour TV news, rap music, social media, Nestle childcare products, ChatGPT, even the information inside your own brain has been weaponised against you without your knowledge or consent - because that's what "war" means to the Global North.

That's why the CIA's regime change handbook employs something called a "Whole Of Society Approach," where EVERYTHING they can access or influence in the target country is weaponised against the incumbent. They will lie, cheat, steal, gaslight, kill, torture, selectively deploy the truth, hide behind civil society, weaponise academics, rile up the populace, seed the information space with strategically emotive red meat, deploy terrorism (like they did in 1996 in Nigeria when they got their useful local idiots to bomb Lagos airport during the multiyear operation to remove Abacha), and at the end of the operation when they get their puppet installed, they will hide their hands and let you think you did it all by yourself, like these unfortunate young fools in Nepal who are about to witness their country turn into China's Ukraine.

Until the Global South understands that "war" is a constant and ongoing reality that will never end as long there is Global North, and not a series of standalone, temporary events, the global majority living in the world's wealthiest lands will continue to lose against a small minority that has no resources and a negative birth rate.

Not that this will accomplish anything, since you people hit the "off" switch inside your brains once your religion is mentioned, but for the benefit of the roughly 9 teachable people left in Nigerja, here is what is REALLY happening around you:

1. China is winning the economic war with the US, and the US is aware that it can no longer compete industrially with China, which is already a larger economy than the US in PPP terms. The only reason the US economy is still nominally larger is that the US dollar remains wildly overvalued due to its use as the global reserve currency.

2. The rise of BRICS means that the end of the US dollar as global reserve currency is coming. Once that happens, the US economy will implode, because it is built on exporting USD and importing the world's productivity. Without the overvalued USD as an imperial tool for controlling and extracting from the rest of the planet, the US will basically become Brazil with nuclear warheads.

3. The Trump administration knows this, which is why it has gone into full imperial mode, renaming the DoD to "Department of War," and preparing to deploy the US military across Latin America as part of its 'Monroe Doctrine.' The idea is to secure land, resources, and spheres of influence to compete with China and Russia, since it is no longer the unilateral superpower.

4. In this new multipolar world whose birth you are witnessing, there will be 3 or 4 great powers instead of just one, and all of them will compete and jostle for influence and access to resources. That is what you are witnessing playing out in Nepal, Bangladesh, the Sahel, the Middle East, Venezuela, and many other places. Yes, there are local factors, but everything exists in this wider context of a world being reshaped in front of our eyes.

5. During this reshaping of the world, Africa - the only continent with a majority of its states professing 'nonalignment' with any great power - is the biggest prize that is up for grabs. All of tomorrow's technology, which guarantees economic and military supremacy is built on resources found in DR Congo, Northern Nigeria, Mali, Niger, Burkina Faso, Chad, Sudan and Somalia. (What unique security situation do all these places have in common?)

6.During this reshaping, "international institutions" are debased and made irrelevant. Bibi Netanyahu has an ICC arrest warrant that nobody will honour, and the US government sanctioned the ICC for issuing the warrant, even locking the ICC Chief Prosecutor out of his email and bank accounts. The UN has officially declared Gaza to be a genocide - and nothing happened. And nothing will happen because these "institutions" no longer have of the teeth they once pretended to have.

7. This means that the days of one state cooking up a reason to invade or annex another state - something expressly forbidden since 1945 - are now back. And since Africa has what everybody wants, any great power is now free to deploy a geopolitical meme ("Christian Genocide in Nigeria") and use it to justify invasion to take what it wants. In other words, colonialism is coming back - not IMF/World Bank, suit-wearing, conference-attending, Business-English-speaking, polite neo-colonialism, but open, obvious colonial theft and thuggery. This is not decades away - it is a few years away at the most.

8. Russia considers Europe to be its rightful sphere of influence and trade dominance. Hence it views European access to cheap African resources as a threat. Thus Russia is stepping in to provide military and infrastructure support for African states so that they can start to use their own resources for themselves and leave Europe dependent on Russia. Europe and the US see this as an existential threat, hence their proxy war in Ukraine and their new geopolitical meme ("Christian Genocide in Nigeria") to justify direct military occupation of West Africa.

9. No great power gives a single fuck about "Nigerian Christian genocide." All you are is a means to an end!

There is a category of Nigerian men who first gained regular internet access around 2009 and have built their entire personality around Christian white nationalist YouTube philosophy and "alpha male" podcasts.

Fed by these influences, which have been subtly pushed on them by social media algorithms that they do not understand, these distinctly average and untravelled men have developed a weird habit of talking about African-Americans using the same racist framing used by their white soldier-of-Christ YouTube heroes, without understanding the full import of what they are saying and the context those things exist in.

These men enthusiastically invite themselves to American political conversations on social media and inevitably take the side of whoever most closely parrots the white nationalist YouTube pop philosophy that they have turned into their whole personality. They do this without having the most basic tools for parsing these conversations, such as knowing the roles that "doublespeak" and "coded language" play in American political discourse.

So they see, for example, what looks like a conversation about "DEI," and they jump in headfirst, quoting soundbites from their favourite podcast bros, not realising that the term "DEI" itself is a racially coded term that is pejoratively weaponised against African-Americans, and that the fundamental anti-DEI premise put forward by their podcast heroes - that "qualified white people lose spots to undeserving African-Americans because of their race" - is a malicious racist myth that is not supported by any data, similar to the adjacent myth about "immigrants coming in to live on government handouts."

A 12 year-old African-American knows all this already because it is their everyday lived reality. A 32 year-old man in Lagos, unfortunately does not. Which is why you will notice that under every kind of tweet, Facebook post, TikTok video, or Instagram reel containing American political discourse, you cannot fail to notice a disturbing number of Nigerian men constantly taking the side of whoever is the most racist, or hates gays the most, or has the most shit to say about women.

If you're African-American, you should not mistake that to mean that Nigeria is exclusively populated by Uncle Ruckus from The Boondocks. To these Nigerian men you see, American political discourse is basically a sport where spectators are allowed to join the players on the court. The majority of them do not know their arse from their elbow, and taking the loudest and wrongest side on any such conversation they come across is a temporary escape from their offline hardships, and is their only way of feeling remotely powerful.

The best thing you can do is refuse to engage them. You're basically dealing with unemployed or underemployed people living in a country whose economy has lost 67% of its GDP in 10 years, and who have nothing to do except Internet Comment Section Olympics using YouTube pop philosophy, US political lingo and white nationalist ideas they picked from Stefan Molyneux, Jordan Peterson, Ben Shapiro and Charlie Kirk. And because they don't understand how social media algorithms function as tools of control, they think these things were their ideas resulting from their "independent research" (watching hours of "debate" on YouTube).

To those men who may be reading this, I have little to say. I know that except Ben Shapiro explains "class consciousness" to you on YouTube, it might as well be Greek. That's OK. But know this:

Regardless of whatever false self-image your YouTube algorithm curates for you, you are not in any way "different" from African-Americans. In the eyes of those whose opinions actually move the world, both you and them are the exact same.

That's a fact.

Your "superiority" on the hand is a feeling inside your head - a feeling that somebody put there.

Learn to differentiate objective reality from feelings inside your head. Your life may someday rest on knowing the difference.
