@CliveWismayer@TheParty1sOver He didn’t drive it but he probably used it often. He’s rumoured to be gay and the campervan offered him a place to conduct that part of his life away from prying eyes.
@ginadavidsonlbc@JNHanvey Good for you Joanna - keep applying the pressure, maybe you’re the only one who can hold their feet to the fire. We are all with you for justice for Scotland & for Alex x
@nats_tired And what is wrong with that? What more do you require of MSP’s? Is that not the goal of the Scottish parliament? that it is composed of ordinary folk? all Jock Tamsin bains? I am glad our deputy first minister was, in another life, a teacher - seems perfect to me.
we live on a planet where trees warn each other of danger through a fungal network. Where octopuses dream.
Where elephants return to the bones of the deceased and stand over them in silence. Where bees use dance to communicate where to fly and where the flower is.
Where crows remember the faces of people who were cruel to them and pass this memory to their children.
Where ants build cities. Where cats purr at a frequency that accelerates the healing of bones.
Where, after a forest fire, the first thing the earth does is grow flowers.
@KYKYPY3A_B Everything is weighed before being allowed aboard a spacecraft so that the exact fuel to weight ratio is known. A glass jar containing a chocolate spread is heavy and unnecessary- I doubt any scientist would think it was worth its weight in fuel for a trip round the moon
@whatluck4rulers@nonregemesse Not a fan of squid risotto or the other offerings. Split was amazing and the people were lovely, just not into the food compared with their close neighbours Italy & Greece x
@mikejwhelan Growing older is not the closing https://t.co/wfP1SIkhAl can be the most exquisite chapter, if you let yourself bloom again.Let these years ahead be your "treasure years".You don’t need to be flawless. You only need to show up, for the life that is still yours x
@mikejwhelan Now, at 95, I write letters by hand. I’m learning to bake rye bread. I still breathe deeply every morning. I still adore laughter — though I no longer try to make anyone laugh. I love the quiet more than ever. I’m writing this to tell you something simple:
@mikejwhelan I was simply https://t.co/RzOVeXybdl 80, I took up watercolor painting. I painted flowers from my garden, old hats from my youth, and faces I remembered from the London Underground. Each painting was a quiet memory made visible.
@mikejwhelan not to perfect my diction, but to quiet my soul. At 70, I returned to the Shakespearean stage — something I once believed I had aged out of. But this time, I had nothing to prove. I stood on those boards with stillness, and audiences felt that. I was no longer performing.
@mikejwhelan And truthfully, that role taught me to accept my own quirks. It healed something in me.
At 60, I began learning Italian, not for work, but so I could sing opera in its native language. I also learned how to live alone without feeling lonely. I read poetry aloud each evening,
@mikejwhelan I hadn’t quite https://t.co/6zxg2yyeeR 50, I accepted a television role that many would later associate me with — Hyacinth Bucket. I thought it would be a small part in a little series. I never imagined that it would take me into people’s living rooms and hearts around the world.
