Building off the great success of the recent Evanston Food Drive, a second one will be held on Saturday, August 8! This food drive will also take place at the ETHS Parking Lot 1 on Dodge. Drop-off donations are accepted between 11:30 and 1:30 PM, and food pick-up is from 2:00 PM

It is critical for our youth to have support and opportunities to engage around these vital issues that impact them on both a personal and systemic level.

Y.O.U. hosts weekly Community Conversations for youth to discuss current events with staff. These spaces allow youth to reflect upon recent events of police brutality and racial injustice in America. Youth can ask questions, express their feelings, and share ideas for change.

Each week begins with a different topic, such as how the news media and social media influence current events, how youth can be leaders in fighting for racial justice, mass incarceration, and intersectionality.

Last week, a Y.O.U. team member dropped off this bag of produce from Y.O.U.'s urban, organic garden to Susan Berkowitz and Marc Beem! Susan and Marc won 6 weeks of produce delivered to their home directly from our garden during the silent auction at our 49th Annual Benefit.

Please join us in welcoming new Board member, Karin Ruetzel! Karin is a clinical psychologist with a private practice in Evanston where she sees children and adults from Evanston and neighboring communities.

She has chaired community boards supporting educational institutions (ETHS Educational Foundation), mental health services (City of Evanston Mental Health Board) and youth programming (North End Mothers’ Club). Karin previously served on Y.O.U.’s Community Council.
