Conditions on our Highways are improving but many of the local sides have formed a smooth ice layer with all the rain. We are working on re-gaining traction through the use of Sand trucks and Graders. Drive with caution and give extra time to reach your destination.
Forecasted Snow Event have turned to sections of rain along Highway 16. With the negative temperatures this could lead to ice buildup. Our trucks are out sanding and plowing please be patient and Drive to Conditions.

Please be aware of an MVI on #BCHwy16 near Guest Rd. East of Vanderhoof. The highway is currently closed but expected to be opened to single lane alternating traffic shortly. Drive safe folks.

Snow is falling this morning in the service area. Fraser Lake and Fort St. James are seeing more snow than Vanderhoof. Please expect to see compact sections on your travels with limited visibility as the snow continues to fall. Crews are out addressing the conditions as necessary

Seasonal load restrictions ("road bans") have been removed area-wide, EXCEPT DOG CREEK RD AND GERMANSEN LANDING RD, which are still under 50% and 70% load restrictions respectively.
There is a recent wildfire south of Highway 16 between Lily Lake Rd and Holy Cross FSR with no public road impact at this time. Plenty of local smoke in the #vanderhoof#fraserlake#fortstjames area today.
Please report any water issues on our road network to our team at 250-567-3114. We take calls 24h a day, 7 days a week. We have seen warm temperatures over the weekend and even the snow in the hills is beginning to melt and run down!

Load Restrictions go on area-wide Monday morning at 12:01am. Night haul still OK for North Road; other side roads reduced to 70% (50% for seal-coat) until frost drains from roadbases. Please move any large loads / bring in propane etc. before Monday!

MoTI has placed "night haul" road bans effective Monday on the Germansen Rd as well as Pinchi Lk Rd. Both rds 70% from 10am-10pm beginning Mon and will remain unrestricted from 10pm to 10am.
