Yesterday we learnt about Remembrance Day. We discussed the significance of the poppy and remembered those who served for our country. Reception were excellent at creating some of their own poppy paintings. #RememberanceDay2024

This week we are celebrating @worldrhymeweek 🎵 We have enjoyed singing the nursery rhymes and extending our vocabulary knowledge. We were brilliant at constructing a farm, baking currant buns and creating stars with different media. We can’t wait to sing the rest! @GarstonCE

Last week we were extremely lucky to be visited by Lucia the Guide Dog and her family 🐶 We extended our learning from our previous topic “People Who Help Us” and discovered that some animals also have special jobs to do that can help us! @GarstonCE

We throughly enjoyed our RE lesson this afternoon learning all about the Harvest Festival. We spoke about the fruits and vegetables that we are thankful for, discussed our favourites, and had a go at some still life drawing! ✍🏻 🌽🥕🍐🫛🥔🧅 @GarstonCE

To celebrate World Mental Health Day we enjoyed reading the story ‘Ruby’s Worry’. We discussed our worries and how we could overcome them. We also spent some time completing mindfulness colouring and listened to @suehendra read us a story on Zoom! 📖 @GarstonCE @WMHDay 🤍

This week in literacy we are reading a story called ‘Six Dinner Sid’. Reception came to school and found out that there is a lost black cat on the loose 🐈‍⬛ Today we have been busy making our own ‘Lost Cat’ posters and enjoyed helping the poorly animals at the vets. @GarstonCE

Today in PSHE we discussed what our daily routine looks like in the morning, we compared ours to Mrs Williamson’s. It was interesting to discover we all have a different daily routine and what we can do both independently and with support! @GarstonCE

We had so much fun in our PE lesson today practising our fundamental skills! This week we pretended to be explorers on a safari. We practiced moving our bodies in lots of different ways that represented animals and absolutely loved playing the monkey game! 🐒 @MrMcARemat
