I speak not merely as an educator and a thought leader, but as a citizen, filled with pride and fury alike.

We did not wage conflict with Pakistan—we were battling China’s aggressive posture while our brave soldiers made the ultimate sacrifice in Galwan Valley in 2020, where 20 of our finest were martyred in brutal hand-to-hand combat.

In the shadow of that brave stand, the 2025 Pahalgam massacre left 26 innocent lives extinguished by terrorists. India responded decisively with Operation Sindoor—a swift retaliation targeting terror infrastructure, with no global leader persuading us to hold back.

Yet, amid righteous defiance, our Prime Minister meets China’s president—warmly, with smiles and handshakes—while behind the scenes, Beijing hedged its bets, calling our counter-terror operations “regrettable” and sliding into veiled support for Pakistan, its so-called “all-weather friend.”

This is no mere talk. It is a betrayal of memory. A display of deference at odds with our martyrs’ sacrifice. While India stood fearless in both the high Himalayas and in retaliation, China chose optics over justice.

Let us condemn that cowardice. Let us honor our soldiers—both those who fell in Galwan and those who upheld our sovereignty in 2025. And may every handshake, every summit never overshadow our duty to remember, to defend, to stand unbowed in the face of aggression.
