YU IT is planning a service outage for Saturday, December 20. We expect PantherNet to be available for the majority of the day. Other services may also go offline for shorter periods.
The PantherNet portal is repaired and currently online. However, in identifying the root cause there is another fix to apply that will require another restart to avoid another outage. Things should be fully back to normal in about 20 minutes.
We are updating some core database software systems this evening into tomorrow morning. There will outages with certain services during this time frame.
A number of employee phones are not active following the weekend's power outage. With a few exceptions, we expect to have this resolved within the next hour.
The annual extended maintenance period for our core data server is about to begin. Some services will be unavailable or unreliable for most of the day.

Campus-wide network outage beginning 12:55PM was due to faulty equipment in Mackey creating a routing loop that somehow bypassed spanning tree protection and overwhelmed the campus core switch.
Resolved for most areas at 2:11PM, remaining areas before 3PM. Our board is green.
Print services will be unavailable during today's Daily Gathering in order to patch a recently published security issue. This is precautionary/preventative only; there are no indications any York University systems have been compromised.

We have reports of students unable to login to Microsoft services such as One Drive. We are investigating, but do not have a resolution or ETA for a solution at this time.
Doing some work on access points in McGehee and we accidentally triggered a firmware update and full reboot of the building's switching. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Wi Fi in Residence Halls may go down briefly today (10 minutes or less) as we update firmware on access points. This will be one AP (router) at a time across 70 APs, so the exact time for a given area is not clear.
As we go to virtual learning today due to the winter storm, Google also had some trouble with Google Meet this morning between about 7:30 and 8:50 AM. They have now resolved this issue.
