Started with tracking explosions around the Howard Johnson hotel on Granville in Vancity. Now highlighting increasing public safety issues due to govt inaction.
Here's a vid of a #bearbanger being dropped out a window of the Howard Johnson hotel. All residents are from Oppenheimer Park, supplied by @BC_Housing. This has been going on for weeks.
HoJo residents involved in this activity need to be held accountable and face consequences.
Dr. Bill MacEwan, along with former B.C. premier Mike Harcourt and others, presented a proposal to B.C. officials to treat 300 of the most seriously mentally ill and chemically addicted citizens in the Downtown Eastside through a comprehensive program.

@Jeff69_official @rdayaglobal@GlobalBC Not sure it's that simple. Restraining orders are legal instruments to restrict one's movements due to the threat they pose. This judge's order also said return contingent on Probation Service's approval, therefore likely conditions imposed. Any idea how this played out in PEI?
UPDATE: In less than 24 hours, VPD forwarded file to Crown for charge approval. I’m waiting to hear w charges r being considered and whether suspect is still in custody. He is from AB. He arrived in BC a wk ago and has already had at least 4 police incidents. @globalbc
A pregnant business owner asked a man to move from in front of her store earlier this week. He allegedly responded by throwing rocks at her stomach. https://t.co/H5iewqxlIR

In which @BurnabyRCMP walks me through a bird's-eye view YouTube video of a mental-health arrest in Metrotown Wednesday involving a woman holding a 'large steak knife' https://t.co/MvDshLfz6P
@NEWS1130 Arson in #vancouver, so hot right now. This is 55 W Hastings, where two men set fire to a mattress stacked on a gas main to cause maximum damage. 1/
#VPDNews: Vancouver Police today released security video of a suspect in a gunpoint robbery in Yaletown in early October and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him. Anyone with information is asked to call 9-1-1 or Crime Stoppers. https://t.co/79Q3k0S84X
Plan: "focus on 300 people with such severe mental illness and addictions that they are unable to access available housing or treatment, and are therefore responsible for a disproportionately high number of emergency room visits, court appearances and interactions with police."
Sorry this happened to you but glad you're doing okay @rdayaglobal. Thanks to the citizens that helped, and @BCRCMP off duty members that jumped in as well. #InItTogether
@steeletalk This is now a majority vote because there is no longer a grant proposed in recommendations B&C. Approval of grants require a 2/3rds vote under section 206 of the Vancouver Charter but the lease agreement with VCH outlined in the memo does not. https://t.co/dbj9mWt05p ^EL
@kelewis@JanetBrown980@ParkBoard majority? @daveforparks ? @inner_cityfarms ? Anyone with the “majority” block vote prepared to speak publicly about Katie’s tweet, or the photos of the cesspool that’s become of the grounds of #strathcona? It is inhuman to allow our poverty stricken live this way.
I've been told safety concerns by St. Paul's Hospital staff over Raincity's OPS site at the hospital are a leading factor for VCH's push for the relocation to Yaletown.
Report by @CTV_Jon in August, after the death of a worker from assault. #vanpoli

This is so offside. Changing the parameters of a report and a vote threshold because public concern doesn’t support the how & what was proposed. Demonstrates a lack of willingness to listen to, work with & engage residents on a path forward. It’s a huge ethics issue. #vanpoli
