That's a wrap - thank you YJC teams for another lovely year of youth advocacy work! We are so proud of all the work you've done - and we plan to highlight it! For now, here's a quick list of our youths' accomplishments this year ๐๐ฝโจ๐ #YouthEmpowerment
During the last week of #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth, we highlighted youth mental health. Our newsletter focused on the work of two great orgs weโve partnered with in DC, @blackswanacad and @YWP_DC.

We are officially back on twitter! And with news - we are currently hiring for the 2022-23 SY! Are you a DC high schooler looking for a job AND want to advocate for teens? Apply to be a youth justice advocate! Youth earn $10-15/hour. Apps closes June 30th - link in our bio! โจ
Earlier today, we passed @Vote16DC unanimously out of committee. It will allow 16 & 17 year olds the right to vote in DC. Why does that matter? Because 10,400 young people can pay taxes, make healthcare decisions, drive on our streets, & more, but have no voice at the ballot box.
While 16 & 17 year olds may not be able to vote YET, they can PRE-REGISTER! our youth leader Alik is Pre-Registering and Registering new voters all day Friday at WILSON HS
Our Advanced Team members are working together to identify issues within their communities. We closed out the night by designing our own motivational board.
