I was digging deeper into book 11 and 12 and found out that Odyssey encounters Elpenor during traveling through Land of the Dead. He then goes back to give Elpenor a proper burial in book 12.
Odyssey Book 11 ~
Does Odysseus and his crew still not notice that Elpenor, the youngest rank, had killed himself? They just kind of go on their day in the underworld, not noticing that one their youngest crew member had died.
