A new book arrived! "Final Fantasy VII - The Kids are Alright: A Turks Side Story" by Kazushige Nojima. For some reason also called "Lateral Biography TURKS"?
My weekend read 🤩

@Ahleckss@FFVIINovels stabbed through throws Sephiroth by holding onto the blade, that's just silly, but I look at the intention not the execution: Cloud just saw his mom die, village burn, and Tifa hurt, and the rage fueled him, it's not supposed to be indication of Cloud's physical strength
@Ahleckss@FFVIINovels similar where he is pretty selfish as a young kid, caring only about his dreams and leaving Tifa behind in tears, to AC Cloud telling Sephiroth he cares about everything.
Angeal influenced Zack, Zack influenced Cloud, Cloud influenced Danzel...
As for the scene where Cloud stabb
@clo_ti44 Not really anything to do with power or fighting skills, materia skills,... They didn't even fight really, just a heartbroken angry boy versus a war hero who can't believe this kid could ever touch him let alone defeat him. All Sephiroth had to do was let go of the hilt.
@clo_ti44 I'm not sure I get your point?
Cloud was still unenhanced, we can all agree any 1st Class could have cut through 100s of Clouds at that point.
It's a bit silly scene, but the point was Cloud was enraged and Sephiroth crazy and arrogant, so Cloud threw him into the Reactor. Not

@PersonaHearts5R@FFVIINovels Cloud beat Sephiroth with a team of friends, and in AC he beat Kadaj controlled by Sephiroth and needed Lifestream Zack to bolster him and Aerith to revive him. Cloud is made stronger by his friends and that makes the story so much better than lone wolf being overpowered.
@Ahleckss@FFVIINovels The difference is that to Zack Sephiroth used to be a friend and a mentor, and to Cloud he didn't. That's why Zack hesitated until he saw Sephiroth is truly beyond redemption. Then, yeah, he was ready to kill him too, but it was too late.
@Ahleckss@FFVIINovels I agree Cloud has something unique, but so does Zack. They're just different.
Zack puts his sword next to Sephiroth's neck and wants to talk. He could have run him through like Cloud did.
Zack literally died to protect a friend so he put much more into protecting people he loves.
@burgerheissen@FFVIINovels Zack got the equivalent to S-cells when he was 13. Zack got Jenova cells in the same procedure as Sephiroth, except Sephiroth was a fetus. Cloud was part of Reunion experiment in Nibelheim but never really went through actual SOLDIER procedure as Zack did.
@FFVIINovels Despite fans picking their favorite, this question is too complex to answer.
Does it count as Cloud winning when his skills are founded on Zack's skills and knowledge he absorbed?
Do we take into account Zack's reluctance to kill?
Cloud idolizing Zack?
Zack's mental fortitude?
@Gamesreaper69@Zdz17@FFVIINovels That's true but Zack's fighting experience lasted from age 13 to 18, and from 22 to 23.
Cloud's fighting experience in FF7 lasts less than 2 months. He is relying on skills and knowledge he took from Zack.
@LuisMSR9@Zdz17@FFVIINovels Cloud beats them because he is literally using Zack's knowledge and skills. Aerith tells us he's even moving like Zack. It's an impossible question to answer because the two of them are too entwined.
@Ahleckss@FFVIINovels Also, Sephiroth is canonically the strongest character on the whole Planet. Zack had absolutely no chance in a fair fight 1-on-. Cloud especially didn't, but Cloud got lucky to catch Sephiroth from behind during the height of Sephiroth's arrogance and insanity.
@Ahleckss@FFVIINovels Just bcs Zack is reluctant to kill and Cloud isn't doesn't say anything about their skills and abilities. If you're taking into account their personalities, then the only real answer is that they would never fight because Cloud idolizes Zack and Zack refuses to fight his friends
