@Martyupnorth Incorrect, there was a fire reported a few days ago in the RMH area, it now out henech why you don't see it on the map. Wainwright is outside of the FPA.
@Martyupnorth Have you studied or fought wildland grass fires? Quick Google search on historical grassland fires would prove you wrong. Many people have died in grass fires.
@BillsGuy35@J_TheCynic Understandable to question it, there were a lot of highly trained people that were over come quickly. More accounts will come out in the future.
@BillsGuy35@J_TheCynic Oh they noticed it, it was to late by then. Fire can move extremely fast in those conditions as they said it wasn't there then the next min it was on top of them. I do hope all involved, recover quickly. It is tragic.
@BillsGuy35@J_TheCynic Being a squib with a piss pack would have been the easy work. Never got to see the easy work. I have helped put out grass fires in that training area before on more then once occasion.
@OhToFreeCanada It's plausible, wild fires can be unpredictable even to highly trained fire fighters. Lots of deaths have occured in the past. These guys were not trained fire fighters, they could have easily missed warning signs. Range control on the other might have some explaining to do.
@Chris442426@globeandmail Your source is an idiot. An artillery round will not go off if it falls from a truck. Even if an artillery round still has its fuze on with the impact setting selected, it would still not denotate. It needs centrifugal force to disengage the safety.
