Something I like looking at when researching a project is who’s actually building it.

With @vangrid_io, the founders’ backgrounds caught my attention.

Robert Brighton has experience across Microsoft, quantum computing, HoloLens, and deep-tech and Web3 go-to-market.

Khalid Benrafik has worked with https://t.co/3QUJJNQGYP, ING and Mollie, with experience in distributed, high-throughput systems.

Now look at what Vangrid is trying to build.

Collecting spatial data from the real world at scale isn’t just about getting people to point their cameras at things.

You need to turn those captures into useful data, build infrastructure that can handle contributions from across the world, and create a system that can actually deliver that data to the people who need it.

That’s a pretty demanding combination of problems.

And it makes the team’s experience worth paying attention to.

The idea is one thing. Having the right people to execute it is another.
