You could also end up stop breathing in the night and might have to be woken up. Or better yet you could not fall asleep at all because the pain is too unbearable. It's just best to make sure you have someone these with you at all times.

If you ever decide you need to get a tonsillectomy, make sure you have someone that can be at your every waking call. Sometimes your throat swells or your uvula. You never know could end up getting bad reactions to your pain meds and need to get some different ones.
