A close look at the #VR180 camera at #fallowfieldraingardens. Kelman of @Neoneight interviewed us for a documentary film commissioned by the Cambridge Central Library. The film features the townie stretch of the Cam & people who love, care for, &/or call it home. #DigitalSpaces
In March 2025, we celebrated one year since cutting the kerb on Fallowfield 🌱💧
Our pilot rain gardens have been quietly reducing flooding on this road in Chesterton, helping slow runoff and keep polluted water from flushing straight into the river.
🌧️ Keeping the rain out of the drain, one planter at a time 🌿
In 2025 we’ve installed more SlowFlow planters in private homes, alongside our work in public spaces and schools. Helping rainwater slow down, soak in, and grow plants before rushing straight into the drains.
Our #RainLab has continued to spark conversations.
It’s a simple but powerful visual showing how vegetation changes soil infiltration, and how it even changes the colour and quality of the water that flows out at the bottom.
The takeaway:
🌼 more flower beds
✂️ fewer lawns
Talk by Cam Valley Forum's Mike Foley in Newnham, 2nd Dec - what is preventing the River Cam from reaching its chalk-stream promise of "gin-clear" water? https://t.co/J585EL1ieC

Our first school in Cambs gets the #watersensitive treatment. #icknieldprimary in Sawston has #raingardens, water butts & planters to add drainage capacity & amenity while supporting biodiversity. A brilliant school, now a little less wet at the edges 💙 https://t.co/N5Le4WKR7W
https://t.co/cyJe3GKCDC Tonight 6:30pm Leper Chapel: PURE CLEAN WATER.
A primer on water crisis & economic pressures in Cambridge, portrait of a chalk stream and medieval engineering.
Our oldest surviving intact building is a beautiful cinema for one more night. #riversoffilm
