At the height of the Kargil War in 1999, Squadron Leader Ajay Ahuja, flying a MiG-21, was searching for Flight Lieutenant K Nachiketa, an Indian MiG-27 pilot who had ejected. Sqn Ldr Ahuja was himself forced to eject when Pak surface-to-air missiles struck his aircraft. The brave Squadron Leader was captured by Pakistani forces and shot dead. Sq Ldr Ahuja's widow looks back at the life and times of her husband, whose first love was always fighter-flying.
