A farmer in rural Ireland noticed that one of his cows would cry for hours every time he left for the train station to pick up supplies.

¿Cuál es la cosa más amable que una mascota ha hecho por ti?

Esta es Ashley. Yo estaba arruinado y le compré comida de gato con mis últimas monedas. Quedaban dos días más hasta que cobrara. No había comida en la casa y me fui a dormir con hambre. Al día siguiente le di el desayuno, y esta preciosa criatura me miró, se dio la vuelta y se fue por la ventana. Yo pensé que hasta la gata me había abandonado. Entonces escuché un ruido. De repente, la gata entró de nuevo por la ventana y llevaba una paloma que acababa de cazar. Me la tiró a los pies. Me miró, parpadeó y empezó a acicalarse. Era como si supiera que estaba pasando hambre, así que se fue a cazar algo para que me lo pudiera comer.

Si alguna vez has visto a tu gato “amasar” con sus patas, seguramente te habrás preguntado qué significa este comportamiento tan tierno. Este gesto, también conocido como “hacer pan” o “masaje de gatito”, es algo que los gatos hacen desde pequeños. Aquí te explico las razones más comunes:
1. Recuerdo de su infancia: Los gatitos recién nacidos amasan a sus madres mientras se alimentan, lo que estimula la producción de leche. Al crecer, continúan haciendo este movimiento, quizás por comodidad o como un gesto instintivo.
2. Marcaje de territorio: Las almohadillas de las patas de los gatos tienen glándulas que liberan feromonas. Al amasar, están marcando su territorio de manera sutil, dejando su “firma” en los lugares que consideran suyos, incluyendo a ti 😼.
3. Relajación y bienestar: Amasar es una manera en la que los gatos se relajan. A menudo lo hacen antes de acurrucarse para dormir o cuando están especialmente cómodos y felices.
4. Comportamiento ancestral: Algunos expertos sugieren que este hábito proviene de sus antepasados salvajes, quienes solían amasar el pasto o las hojas para hacer su cama más cómoda.

Me salvó la vida...
Cuando perdí a mi hijo al nacer en 2003, Mikey era sólo un gatito. No me di cuenta entonces del papel que iba a desempeñar en mi vida.
Mikey se convirtió en mi razón para todo, mi razón para salir de la cama.
Perder un bebé al nacer es devastador y muchas mujeres se enfrentan a una vida de depresión después de pasar por algo así, pero eso no ocurrió en mi propia experiencia porque Mikey me ayudó a encontrar mi camino.
Desde los primeros momentos en que llegué a casa sin el bebé en brazos y encontré a Mikey acurrucado y dormido en el moisés de mi hijo, fue un consuelo para mí. Hacer que mis brazos no se quedaran vacíos esa primera noche en casa y durante los siguientes 18 años marcó la diferencia, no estaba sola, él siempre estaba a mi lado.
Mikey nació sordo. Después de la muerte de mi hijo, pasé mucho tiempo investigando sobre la sordera felina y tratando de averiguar cómo iba a cuidar de este gatito. Antes de darme cuenta, Mikey y yo nos habíamos embarcado en nuestro propio viaje, un viaje basado en el amor y la amistad.
Mikey murió el 21 de febrero de 2021, tenía 18 años. Mientras siga viva, contaré su historia, era nuestra historia.
Puede que él no fuera lo suficientemente alto como para apoyarme en él, pero siempre me sostuvo.
Este es Mikey, era mi mejor amigo...

My heart💔Filmed at Hope Springs Shelter, Robert came in to look at dogs but didn't plan on taking one home. He spent 35 minutes with a dog named Sam who was SURRENDERED 6 TIMES. They played & Robert stood to leave. Sam jumped into his arms. Held on & wouldn't let go💔Robert tried to put him down. After 15 minutes Robert said he couldn't walk away from someone this terrified of being abandoned yet again. He carried Sam to the front desk & signed adoption papers. After being in Robert's house for 9 hours, Sam was ok no longer being held. Not all dogs get a happy ending like this one. But they all deserve one🙏

🪐 NGC 4452 is a galaxy that appears incredibly thin and elegant. It is located approximately 55 million light-years from Earth in the constellation Virgo. With a diameter of about 45,000 light-years, it is nearly half the size of our Milky Way. We view NGC 4452 almost edge-on, making it appear as a slender, glowing line in space. This galaxy is classified as a quiescent lenticular system, where the birth of new stars has all but ceased. Even such "quiet" galaxies help astronomers understand how stellar systems across the Universe change and evolve over billions of years.
