@LauraKingDXB@JPSPENCER1980@ColonialDowns@cbhills I see that despite the moved date, Buick is still down to ride Nations Pride on Sunday. It’s a poor race again with only 6 runners (2 have little hope) at what is a low grade track. In fact it’s a very average card - not quite the ‘John Henry’ standard from back in the day 😏
@LauraKingDXB@GBakerRacing Hi L. Safely (and happily back in NY after a great UK trip). Glad you enjoyed Goodwood. Didn’t you say last year that you really didn’t like the place & considered it the worst racing festival in the UK?
I’ll try to find your post. Confused?
@LauraKingDXB Hi Laura! What a fantastic track Ascot is. So much better than anything I’ve seen in the US! Loved every second of it. Pity we didn’t get the chance to see you but perhaps next time. Safe travels home. Back to New York Tuesday…✈️
@LauraKingDXB Happy to report that I was on the winner @20-1 given that the race was so poor this yr by Belm’t Stks standards. IMHO, I don’t think there’s been a good crop of US 3 y/o’s since American P. Not sure why? Sierra Leone is an enigma. Perhaps Ryan M should ride him going forward?
@USASteeplechase I remember many years ago being at Pontefract where Pat Eddery rode a horse called ‘Glamgranforgrams’ What an awful name! Never knew what it meant?
@LauraKingDXB I know a guy who has a tiny share in Marshman (same race as Art Power). Apparently MM is rapidly declining (odd for a 4 year old?) & hardly gets 5F anymore. The horse is dropping down into handicaps if removing the hood doesn’t inspire a change in form tomorrow. Enjoy York!
@aobrienfansite Easy to put a line through that French race on awful ground. I was on Diego V who ran really well in 4th all things considered. AOB team not quite firing as yet but come Epsom, it’ll be hard to choose from a great string of 3 year olds. Too early to write off Troy or L’fellow 💪🏻
@USASteeplechase Do you think after the Gaff ride by Tyler yesterday that Coolmore may consider bringing Ryan Moore over to ride the horse properly going forward?
@LauraKingDXB@KennyMcPeek No financial interest in the 2nd placed horse but Gaffalione’s ride on Sierra Leone has to be described as truly awful! 🤦🏻♂️ congrats to a good winner 👌
@USASteeplechase Great memories! We were in Vegas for the Paq v Hatton fight that day. My wife had $10 to win on MTB at 50-1 which was terrific. The bar TV’s didn’t have commentary but we knew our horse was winning by a LONG way 💨🏇💰💰💰
@LauraKingDXB Thanks about the route to the track. It’ll be amazing! A pint here is @$15-$20 so £7.50 is manageable as is the Champagne. Anything else we need to know about Ascot before coming over?
@LauraKingDXB Thanks. Sounds great! I like a drink (or two) so curious how much a G & T or bottle of Champagne might be? It’s £70 entry which I believe is good value? Hope you’ll be there to perhaps say hello to? It’s Waterloo to Ascot on the train right?
@LauraKingDXB Hi Laura! I’m excited to be coming over for Ascots King George meeting at the end of July. As a veggie & my first trip to the track, is there much on offer in the King Edward VII enclosure? I understand it can get expensive for drinks too? I don’t mind splashing out but …🤷🏻♂️
@louise_another Thanks so much for the info. I’ve got tickets for the King Edward VII enclosure (£70!) so not sure if I could take a bottle of champagne in with me? I understand the train to the track goes from Waterloo? I’m staying in Kings Cross. Easy enough?
@SussexPhilip Thanks for the response. Glad you had a good day at Epsom today. Would love to go there one day. I’d heard it was a little on the expensive side but I don’t know when I’ll get to Ascot again so I’m not going to mind splashing out a bit. Any ? how much a G&T is or champagne?
@stonethoma51451 @LauraKingDXB@oismurphy A person who was stood down for drug/alcohol reasons cannot be classed as grounded & sincere? What x-factor are you referring to? He appears to be a once out of control rags to riches jockey who has been given another chance for his errors. UK racing people are quick to forget 🤷🏻♂️
