@NYY_Mic@BD4pod Also not that anyone should *really* care about batting average as a team stat but the Yankees are now #11 in batting average despite being 28th in singles, which tells you a lot about why singles rank is one of the worst offensive stats to care about
@NYY_Mic@BD4pod Yeah the math is the Yankees have a top 3 offense in baseball despite being 28th in singles, which shows that you don't need to hit a lot of singles to score a lot of runs. The royals are top 10 in singles and 25th in runs scored.
With the Dodgers beating the Rays last night, the Yankees up 1.5 games on the Rays. It was not very long ago the doomer Yankees fans were predicting the Rays were about the run away with the division. I never understood why just looking at the two rosters
@Bwebs622 Baseball and basketball are different sports and there's inherently more randomness in baseball than basketball. Applying lessons from basketball to baseball doesn't make much sense
Some people might see that as a s9lid win but nfortunately this doesn't count as a good win for the Yankees because the blue Jays are under .500 and the Yankees won by more than 1 run
