New words are live.
Addressing the current state of the New York Yankees and building a mock trade deadline plan to bolster the roster. All feedback welcomed.

@AcunaPlusButler Last year was probably his most aggressive deadline. Overhauled the pen and went to get a 3B + platoon bats.
His presser yesterday was super interesting and he’s more transparent than ever, so I’m intrigued.
My Final Yankees Draft Big Board. 119 players I would like to see the Yankees draft. Tried my best to gauge round values, but given the madness of the MLB Draft, won't necessarily take exception to seeing guys taken earlier. Thread below discussing many of my favorites
Long-ish post incoming:
Grissom has a 98 wRC+ but he’s gotten unlucky all year (.269 BABIP, .313 wOBA vs .334 xwOBA).
He has played 1B/2B/3B this year, been essentially average or slightly below avg at all three.
He has a pretty sound approach and does not whiff in-zone as much as a lot of current Yankees.
Basically think of Grissom as a right-handed version of Kody Clemens, who @RyanGarciaESM has been vocal about as a possible NYY target. Less pop, more walk.
He is also a change of scenery guy due to ballpark. Angel Stadium has a 91 park factor for RHH in 2026. Yankee Stadium is 98.
Grissom has a 130 wRC+ on the road (.352 xwOBA) versus a 36 at home (.312 xwOBA).
Can’t imagine Grissom has a super high price tag. He’s still 25-years-old and was formerly a highly thought of prospect. Seems to be finding out who he is as a big league hitter in 2026.
At worst, this is just a player that can replace Amed Rosario (who isn’t hitting enough to offset his atrocious defense). Grissom has strong underlying numbers in a good sample vs. LHP, despite the paltry surface.
And Yankees need to be real and platoon Jazz Chisholm, Grissom is a guy that could do that without the defensive drop off that Rosario presents.
At best, it’s an infielder that the Yankees could use moving forward, considering their currently projected 2B & 3B holes in the future.
I’m not sure the Angels care about analytics, so Cashman should call them and see if they’d move Vaughn Grissom.
He’d legit be a useful player for the Yankees moving forward. The profile is really good this year.
Not a big splashy name so Yankees fans won’t care mostly.
Kinda digging Max Schuemann right now in his small sample (64 PA). May have to see if the Yankees have something here.
- Making good contact, walking a lot, and lifting the baseball.
- Bat speed up 2MPH.
- Attack angle is up from 8° to 13°.
