To all Somalilanders: Happy Independence Day! From resilience to recognition, from the Horn of Africa to the heights of prosperity, may Somaliland rise, shine, and become the Japan of Africa.
Congratulations to H.E. President @Abdirahmanirro, the Gov’t & people of #Somaliland on the 66th anniversary of independence from the #UK🇬🇧 whilst #Somalia#Italiana🇮🇹 was still a #UN🇺🇳 trust. Be proud of your history, resilience, democracy & achievements: a model for the region!
Somaliland has repeatedly raised concerns about Al Jazeera’s reporting, arguing their coverage is often shaped by the networks governments stance toward Somaliland’s political aspirations rather than by a commitment to balanced journalism.
So I visited an Austro-Hungarian castle in Italy showing a map of the Horn of Africa from centuries ago. And of course Somalia did not include Somaliland then, just as it doesn’t include it now.
#Somaliland’s move to simplify e-visas and launch a direct Hargeisa–Tel Aviv flight marks a major step toward reconnecting its diaspora with the homeland, boosting mobility, investment, and international engagement
Today I escorted H.E Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi, President of #Somaliland & his delegation to meet the #Somalilander children (and mothers), brought by @SaveChildsHeart & @MASHAVisrael for heart surgery in 🇮🇱. These life saving procedures will change their lives.. 📷Shlomi Amsalem GPO @IsraelMFA
President Abdirahman Irro took time off during his visit to Israel to meet Somaliland children with heart defects who have undergone surgery and are recovering.
For many years, @MASHAVisrael and Save a Child's Heart NGO in collaboration with Israel's top heart surgeons have been conducting free heart operations for children from Somaliland.
Africa is increasingly at the centre of Turkey's nuclear grand strategy.
Ankara has cut a flurry of strategic minerals deals with four states with commercially viable deposits of uranium - Nigeria, Niger, Chad and Somalia.
The Somalia deposits untapped and believed to be mostly located in Galgaduduud - Hiiraan region of central Somalia.
In the 1980s Iraqi scientists sent by Saddam procured unspecified quantities from Galgaduud region from an 'experimental' mine.
Somalia is ideal for Turkey for a number of reasons.
First, it can tap into local Somali uranium deposits, or easily ship deposits from other African states.
Second, it can build labs, centrifuges, fuel storage and enrichment facilities along the Somali coast, far from the prying eyes of jittery European neighbours.
The planned spaceport in Warsheikh is likely for ballistic missile development and testing but it could easily also function as a covert nuclear technology development centre.
There is growing speculation among experts Turkey's accelerating nuclear programme could eventually have military dimensions.
Turkey is a formidable scientific and military power, has watched Iran's botched nuclear programme and diplomacy and would probably have drawn good lessons on dos and don'ts.

🧵The Red Sea Alliance! Inside the Unprecedented Israel-Somaliland Military Masterplan!
1️⃣ THE BIG SHOCK: Generals Meet to Forge a New Security Reality!
In a massive move translating diplomatic talks into raw power on the ground, IDF Director General (and former Deputy Chief of Staff) Eyal Zamir has sat down for high-level military talks with Somaliland’s Armed Forces Chief of Staff, Nimcaan Gaxnuug. This isn't a courtesy meeting—it’s the official birth of a structured, heavy-hitting military and security alliance in the Horn of Africa.
Welcome to Jerusalem and welcome to the Knesset, President @Abdirahmanirro.
Marking the first official visit ever by a Somaliland president, your historic presence at the Knesset today opens a new chapter in the relations between our countries.
We look forward to expanding cooperation and building stronger ties between our peoples and nations.
Honored to host my dear friend President @Abdirahmanirro at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during his historic State Visit to open Somaliland’s embassy in Jerusalem.
I’m proud of the privilege I had to write the first pages in the story of the Israel-Somaliland relationship.
This friendship exists not only between governments, but also in the hearts of our peoples.
We’ll continue strengthening it for the benefit of both countries!
Israel 🤝 Somaliland: Advancing Economic Cooperation
Yesterday, Israel’s Ministry of Finance hosted Somaliland President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi in Jerusalem, together with the Governor of the Central Bank and a senior ministerial delegation, for a working meeting with Minister of Finance @bezalelsm, Chief Economist Dr. Shmuel abramzon, and Israeli Ambassador to Somaliland Michael lotem.
The discussion focused on strengthening economic relations and expanding opportunities for trade, investment, and private-sector cooperation between Israel and Somaliland.
The parties reviewed the significant economic potential for future collaboration and discussed the development of a governmental framework (“toolbox”) to support business activity, reduce regulatory barriers, and encourage mutual investment.
Israel remains committed to advancing international economic partnerships and creating new opportunities for growth and cooperation.

Meeting the President of Somaliland during his state visit to Israel the only country so far to recognise his country. As the former colony of. British Somaliland I hope the U.K. will in due course also recognise the legitimacy of Somaliland …
