This is THE issue with staffers.
The omnibus bills are so vast and so tangled that no senator can actually read one, let alone understand it. To pass anything, they become beholden to the Parliamentarian and the majority staff who assemble these monsters.
And those staffers bury all manner of laws and spending deep inside them. That is precisely why they don’t want single-issue bills moving: a clean, readable bill is one they can’t hide anything in. They want everything funneled through the massive packages they alone can steer and control. And they do it in the shadows.
The job of a modern senator has been reduced to four functions:
1.Raise money
2.Approve staff junkets to luxury destinations
3. Introduce your staff to famous and powerful people
4.Take the blame on TV when something goes wrong
The senators cannot call these people out. Do it once and you trigger an autoimmune response: frozen out of the omnibus, your priorities left on the cutting room floor.
The media can’t call them out either, because the leaks dry up the moment they do.
So it falls to us. It is up to us to make these staffers famous.
Stop blaming Thune. Stop blaming Schumer. Stop praising your favorite senator.
Start pointing at the people standing behind them.
CONGRESS IS BROKEN
Make the staffers famous.
You are living in a delusional fantasy if you don’t know that the money backing transgenderism (ACLU, HRC, Trevor Project, Lambda Legal, Planned Parenthood, teacher’s unions, Democratic Party) is 10,000-100,000x the money backing the critics of the movement.
Thomas Sowell: "There is a four-stage pattern that the anointed class use to establish an artificial crisis:
1: Declare a crisis!
2: Come up with a solution!
3: Unintended consequences follow.
4: Blame the unintended consequences on something else.
Examples range from unemployment (minimum wages), crime, venereal diseases, and teenage pregnancy (sex education)."
The role of rationality in figuring out what is true is absolutely central, and it is something the Founders and Enlightenment thinkers understood well. One of the ingenious compromises they came up with for dealing with beliefs that exist outside rational examination appears in two of the most brilliant parts of the First Amendment: the Free Exercise Clause, which says you can believe whatever non-falsifiable doctrine you wish, paired with the Establishment Clause, which says you may not mandate belief in your non-falsifiable system for everyone else.
But what do we do in a situation where so much of what we call ideology has essentially taken the place of religion, and too many of us—especially in academia, but also outside it—hold non-falsifiable beliefs and wish to impose them on reality? There is no clear way to distinguish those rigid beliefs from any others, because they do not call themselves religion or faith. I know people have proposed something like an Establishment Clause for ideology, but I don’t see how that could possibly work in practice. All future debates would just turn into each side trying to prove that the other guy’s belief system, but not their own, is religion-like ideology. Naturally, their own view would simply be “truth.” I’ve been puzzling over this a lot lately.
Truth-seeking simply cannot work in an environment where too many people are afraid to play devil’s advocate, engage in thought experimentation, and take seriously the possibility that they might be wrong on the most important issues. Such an environment simply becomes a dogma factory, where people are motivated to rationalize whatever their tribe wishes to be true.
Gordon Wood - the eminent historian of early America who just died - was a forceful critic of the NYT ‘1619 Project,’ which was a cheap propaganda effort to convince Americans that slavery was what this country is all about. He dismantled the project methodically. Link next post.
“A fire-breathing dragon lives in my garage.” Suppose I seriously make such an assertion to you. Surely you’d want to check it out, see for yourself. . . I lead you to my garage. You look inside and see a ladder, empty paint cans, an old tricycle—but no dragon.
“Where’s the dragon?” you ask. “Oh, she’s right here,” I reply, waving vaguely.
“I neglected to mention that she’s an invisible dragon.” You propose spreading flour on the floor of the garage to capture the dragon’s footprints. “Good idea,” I say, “but this dragon floats in the air.”
Then you’ll use an infrared sensor to detect the invisible fire. “Good idea, but the invisible fire is also heatless.”
You’ll spray-paint the dragon and make her visible. “Good idea, but she’s an incorporeal dragon and the paint won’t stick.” . . . Now, what is the difference between an invisible, incorporeal, floating dragon who spits heatless fire and no dragon at all?
If there’s no way to disprove my contention, no conceivable experiment that would count against it, what does it mean to say that my dragon exists? Your inability to invalidate my hypothesis is not at all the same thing as proving it true.”

According to Massie, Americans can’t afford groceries, gas is too expensive, and Iran was a distraction from the Epstein files.
So naturally, after returning from a tropical vacation, he got right to work on the issue Americans are losing sleep over:
"women prefer men who are self-confident...Don’t act shy and apologetic...even coming off as a jerk is less likely to sink your chances than coming off as a loser who believes he’s unworthy of the other person’s attention." https://t.co/mD1UPRmPrw
People demanding "proof" of election fraud are not understanding how crime works. I worked at Manhattan DA for over 2 years, one in Homicide. We never had video proof of the crime. We almost never had DNA. These are things that occur on CSI on TV, not in real life. And we still convicted people all the time.
What we had was testimony and circumstantial evidence. Travel times, bank records, cell phone data, gate access codes. Motive, capability, benefit, time and place. Never direct proof. Of course the defendant always denied the crime, but there was enough evidence to show that one had to have occurred nonetheless.
If what we have in the LA Mayoral election is a statistical anomaly that is beyond reasonable explanation with anything besides fraud, that is enough to prove a crime. This has been true since the beginning of Western Civlization.
I am truly grateful for the trust President Trump has put in me for this crucial race in our midterm elections.
With his support, we will flip the 3rd District red, continue putting America First, and Finish the Fight!
If you are a NV-03 voter, remember that I am the ONLY Trump-endorsed candidate in the Republican Primary.
Polls are open tomorrow from 7 AM to 7 PM.
Do modern Dems see a woman cut in half and then put back together and ask “Where’s your evidence it was a deception?”
When observable events seem to violate physics, biology or probability, it’s a good bet you have been deceived. Especially true when money and power are at stake
The key to understanding Putin may lie 700 years in Russia’s past.
“Russia was crushed for centuries, and it still hasn’t escaped the shadow of that past.”
Historian Antony Beevor explains how centuries of Mongol-Tatar domination shaped Russia’s identity, its relationship with Europe, and even some of the ideas influencing Putin today.
A fascinating perspective on history, power, religion, and the roots of modern Russian thinking.
I’ve referred these allegations to DOJ’s new Fraud Division for criminal investigation. Minnesota state officials are not above the law, and if they facilitated fraud, lied under oath about what they knew, or harassed and intimated whistleblowers, they must face justice.
The rigging of the LA Mayoral primary is obvious. Outrage should be independent of party, and that’s not what I’m seeing. What’s wrong with you Blue Team people? Do you not understand what it means? Snap out of it and stand up for your neighbors, your country and the West!
President Trump has afforded me the great honor to serve in his administration as the "Special Envoy for American Landowners." In this role, I look forward to representing and advocating for landowners’ rights against any entity that chooses to harass or intimidate them in an effort to achieve goals contrary to those of the President. I look forward to defending our farmers and ranchers🇺🇸
The reason CA Democrats couldn't let Pratt into the general alection is that they can't risk having the debate. It's why both candidates refused to debate again after Pratt humiliated them in the first one.
Their positions are so evil, insane and stupid that they can't run against someone who challenges them. They have to have an election where the choices are interchangeable.
Bass and Raman are both communist tools, identical. Doesn't matter who wins, and that's the way CA Democrats -- aka communists -- have to have it. @KarenBassLA@nithyavraman@ggreenwald
