@yabaleftonline One thing I really hate about the folks in our parents generation is that they don’t listen!
They think they know it all so they don’t listen or pay attention and it’s really annoying cause a lot of abuse that happened to many 90s kids could’ve been avoided!
If Dora Akunyili’s words about Obi don’t make you pause, nothing will.
This wasn’t a campaign. This was one of Nigeria’s most respected public servants speaking about a man she knew and worked with.
Then tell me: what exactly did she see that made her speak this highly of him?
It’s the way he took the youngest one all the way to the edge of the road, just to keep him safe from any oncoming cars. Such a small gesture, but it says so much about how protective he is. ❤️
And then, cheat on her with your coworker who chose her career over staying at home. The cruelest joke is demanding a woman sacrifice her ambitions for your family, only to betray her after she gives you exactly what you asked for.
See ehn, you will not notice how bad Nollywood actors are with the profession they’re portraying until it’s your own profession.
I remember crashing out because Monica couldn’t use a sewing machine properly in the MONICA MOVIE and people said I was overreacting.
Now I’m seeing an American crash out because IK Ogbonna played a photographer with zero knowledge of handling a camera.
These are basic things that should be properly learnt before taking on a role. But we always give kudos to mediocrity in this country.
An actor doesn’t need to be an expert in every profession they portray, but surely they should at least learn the basics?
Imagine coming online and seeing that your dad is getting married. This lady’s story is disheartening because it sounds like she loved her dad so much.
I saw her mum’s picture and was shocked. I wonder how she is handling heartbreak at 69 years old. 💔
A Nigerian Woman Based In Canada Has Called Out a Lady, a Single Mother And Nigerian Immigrant, Who Was Taken In And Housed By Her Friend And Her Family While She Tried To Find Her Footing In Canada. She Claims The Affair Eventually Contributed To The Breakdown Of The Family, And Even After The Wife Discovered That Her Friend Was Sleeping With Her Husband, The Situation Did Not End There. 👀
@BruceWaaayne95@Ccc1505 Mr man, if you ask someone if they’ll wake up at 1am and they say no, ask a different question with a different scenario then. There’s no “principle” here
Some of you have this thing that when you ask a question, you already know the answer you are expecting, getting a different answer just gets you so worked up.
If I know my husband is coming home late, sure there will be food he can heat up and eat. If I am not aware he will be coming home that day and he shows up at night, he can easily fix something for himself, I did not marry a child.
If it’s not wickedness, why are you expecting someone to make you food at night? Especially when they already went to bed before you arrive? If he was single, wouldn’t he have fixed something for himself? What’s this helplessness that comes with being married?
Now compare with having a flat tire by 1:30am, it’s funny how this is the comparison because having a flat tire by that time is not something you can do for yourself but a meal is something he can do.
If my husband has a flat tire by 1:30am and he couldn’t fix it, I will definitely drive down to pick him up. The right comparison should be if I return late, will my husband wake up to make food for me?
Marriage is not difficult, you all just come into it with unnecessary expectations.
Now this is what I don’t like. Because someone has been wrong once doesn’t mean that they are automatically wrong every time they speak. The problem on this app is y’all don’t know how to move on.
On this topic, I hear what she’s saying and also what he’s saying. They are both right. That’s why nuance exists.
She’s saying that when this particular question is asked, many times, it comes with certain expectations mostly only channeled towards women and she finds that unfair. He’s addressing the question plainly, and answering from the point of view of any one in any healthy relationship made or female.
Again, she’s basically addressing the intent behind the question, while he answers the question. Both very valid.
In summary and at the end of the day, if you love your partners, you will CHOOSE to happily go out of your way to do certain things for them. But you cannot take out the choice component, and it must be absolutely mutual and not gender-based.
You people need to put your ego and bias aside and think fairly more often.
@Oluwamidunsin I see nothing wrong with this discourse and her point of view. The society already has many unrealistic expectations of married women. He didn't come across to me as tiptoeing , it seemed more like he was thinking as he was talking. Service is a choice not an expectation.
@Oluwamidunsin It’s unfair to watch a few seconds of a couple’s happy moment and conclude that their marriage won’t last simply because she shared an opinion you disagree with.
You wouldn’t want anyone judging your marriage from a short clip, so extend the same grace to others
