We have been talking about scams that might pop up on our tablets. We know we should tell a trusted adult about it and not click on the messages. #saferinternetday
What a fab Spanish day and some lovely outfits in Year 1. We have learnt a Spanish dance, Spanish numbers and colours. Now time for Encanto the movie 🍿 #discovering@discoveryacademy.org
We kicked off our science with a body parts game yesterday. We learnt the names of our body parts and thought about what job they do #discovering@Discovery_Hyde
We had a great start to our Rosa Parks topic today acting out what happened on the bus. We didn’t like it when only people with blue eyes were allowed to ride. We had a bus boycott to stand up for our rights! #Discovering@discoveryacademy.org
A huge thank you from myself and Mrs Wood for all our lovely gifts🥰! It really is appreciated and can I take this chance to say what a pleasure it has been to teach your gorgeous children! Have a safe happy summer x#caring @Discovery_Hyde
#Inspiring We had great fun designing and making England football posters to cheer on our England team ahead of Sundays final. Come on [email protected]
Today we began to make our kite structures and transfer our designs from paper onto a kite cloth. We are really excited to be making kites and are hoping to test fly them next week. @Discovery_Hyde#improving#achieving
We had great fun today playing listening and drama games. We passed the tambourine around the circle without making it jingle, used our imagination to cross the circle as an animal and played ‘apple pie’ guessing who had changed their voice!#inspiring@discoveryacademy.org
Year 1 were the teachers today, creating posters and using geographical vocabulary to describe the physical features of places in our planet. They recognised hills, mountains, rivers, vegetation, forests, coasts, cliffs, seas and harbours! #inspiring@Discovery_Hyde
The children enjoyed a buffet dinner in class today and chose their own food. Some tried pickled onions for the first time ever! #discovering@Discovery_Hyde
Our Sunflowers are really starting to grow. The tallest one measures a whopping 25cm now! We think it’s all the sun we’ve been having and our love and care😄#caring@Discovery_Hyde
What a ROYALLY fun afternoon we’ve had! We began by researching existing products that previous monarchs have enjoyed. Ready for deciding what to make for our King Charles inspired afternoon tea. Then we learnt a song in Music called Dress Up. We love our @CharangaMusic warm ups.
To start our DT topic ‘What kind of afternoon tea would be fit for a King in 2024?’, we researched the origins of an afternoon tea & learnt all about the Eat Well Plate. We like to be healthy at @Discovery_Hyde so we’ll be including lots of fruit and veg when we design our own.
We are so proud of the artwork Year 1 have created following the @accessart Making Birds unit. Each child has created an individual, unique bird to go in our Reading Forest. @Discovery_Hyde#improving#achieving
