A huge shoutout to the wonderful and incredibly talented Mr Smith who created our whole set for our pantomime with nothing but a bit of cardboard and paint and it looked ah-ma-zing 🎨
What week for year 3! We have been learning about how different religious groups celebrate. First, we went to St Hugh’s where the reverend spoke to the children about Christmas! Then, we had @ChantryHead speak to our children about Eid. Wow! What a week of fabulous learning
What a morning year 3 had today! We were joined by @daveallenmagic to deliver his incredible show on road safety. The children (and adults) thoroughly enjoyed it - lots of laughter and learning 🪄 🚦
Some amazing knowledge organiser tasks and home learning was done over the half term! One of our amazing year 3 children made this model detailing the different layers of the earth 🌍
Year 3 have been very busy this week investigating what the best method for seed dispersal is. We have used water, gravity, wind, pretending to be animals running in the wild and even had an explosion! 💥 🌱
Finally, the children spent the afternoon doing their own research and then presenting back their learning to the rest of their class! We had an amazing day - and we are so impressed with how much the children learnt 🤩 #enquirybasedlearning
An exciting day was had by all today in year 3! We spent the entire day trying to answer the big question ‘what are the consequences of an earthquake?’
First up, the children took part in activities exploring the causes of earthquakes
They built houses out of Lego, made their own tectonic plates and saw what would happen when the plates moved.
We balanced on wobble boards and took part in an earthquake simulation in class
And finally we explored maps and looked at the ‘hot zones’ and where earthquakes occur
Do you know what’s great? Children supporting other children in their learning.
It was so fantastic having all of these mini learning support assistants in maths today 🤩 we have some future teachers on our hands!
Some amazing dream jars made by Anaya and Alice filled with their aspirations for the future and a rather fantastic presentation from George detailing his aspiration of becoming a teacher.
Blown away but our children’s excellent work and putting their values into practice 🤩
