@htmx_org when the overconfident complexity demon says “this is easy!” or “takes 30 minutes max!”, FOLD is dangerous. FOLD makes grug approve PRs filled with complexity. grug has to resist social pressure and keep saying “no”. maybe the complexity demon is the one that didn’t understand
@zuhaitz_dev You still need to validate everything and write some code yourself since this will end up in a user’s hands.
I recommend this post https://t.co/CjrjKiriOn
@zuhaitz_dev 3. You are doing a product. This you *can* use assisting tools (LLMs) but you should understand, review and clean the output. LLMs are the industrialization of code and it makes sense if your goal is to make money to use tools that accelerate your development speed
@TheGingerBill In error handling, I often see in modern languages like Odin/Rust/Zig one-ish enum type per function (e.g. Net module in Odin has an error type for bind, accept, etc.), as opposed to one big enum per module. Is this something you would now do in C and if not, why?
@zuhaitz_dev Also the STL is unreadable if you ever go to definition…
The only feature i like is being able to do scoped objects with raii for profiling functions, and maybe some basic templates for a slice type
@zuhaitz_dev You can use c++ in a healthy way but in a big team without setting some restrictions you will always end up with someone overusing every feature and hurting a codebase. Debuggability takes a huge hit.
Ofc the same can happen in a language like c but less feature = less risk
@nicbarkeragain I recommend Youtube music, comes with Youtube premium and is basically just a Spotify-like frontend to access music both official and from Youtube
