Very thankful for a @CIHR_IRSC operating grant on multiple sclerosis progression! Thanks to reviewers who selflessly spend their time and energy to evaluate and champion the projects. We are very excited to continue working to #endMS! @UAlberta_FoMD@NMHI_UofA@WCHRIUofA@YegMs
Our SPRINT interdisciplinary teams showcased their journey today, marked by hard work, learning, and fascinating outcomes. But beyond the results, it was wonderful to see the bonds forged, and the connections made! Great job teams! Very proud of you all!
I had such a great time at the Edmonton #MSWalk. Members from different labs of the @YegMs walked and shared our research. Much of these funds help fund exciting MS Research across the country. Even my dog Luna loved it. Thank you @MSCanOfficial for this wonderful event.
A pertinent question being explored today by @UAlberta_FoMD MS Centre @YegMs in annual symposium! This year it is entitled “Sex and Gender in Multiple Sclerosis”
Reminder: register now for the UofA MS Research Symposium on Friday May 17th at the TELUS (TEL) building on main campus. We are so excited to welcome you all!

Last 6 months were busy in the lab: 7 grant/award applications & 2 revised manuscripts. Very proud of my trainees who supported each other (and me!) and got through this tough "writing and revisions" season with resilience & kindness. To all who submitted CIHR grants - good luck!

I am so proud of Plemel lab member @Charbel_Baaklin for his recent publication in @CellReports. He found that our brain and spinal cord’s immune cells, called microglia, facilitate the regeneration of myelin (or remyelination) in the spinal cord.
