@landofthe80s When they showed a wild Grizzly Bear in Maine, I walked out of the movie. When you go into these types of movies, you have to suspend some levels of scientific belief. But that scene was so bad, and so easily corrected with just a touch of research, I couldn’t take it.
Patrick Mahomes has had 14 drives in the 4th Q/OT of the playoffs where his team was trailing by 1-8 points.
He erased the deficit on 13 out of 14 of them (92.9%), including the final 13 in a row.

It’s may seem silly and trollish to have to ask the question and yet to watch this Trump nominee sit there and be so obviously afraid of answering is alarming and should be a bigger deal than it will be seen as. He was willing to admit Trump pardoned a convicted drug kingpin, but he couldn’t admit Trump lost the 2020 election. This is the damage Trump has done to our politics and this guy is supposed to be trusted with American intelligence? And yet, he might be an upgrade from the previous occupant in this office.
a diarrhea plague and a killer heat wave while we’re doing a Middle East war, the emperor’s army is killing people in the streets, and everyone outside the palace is facing an affordability famine — we’re in the middle of one of those apocalyptic Biblical prophecies

Fact: This serial liar has achieved nothing yet. He is just playing with the stock market.
Elect a clown, expect a circus.
They got rid of DEI to hire people based on merit then turn around and hired lindsey graham's sister for senator simply because she's lindsey graham's sister.
One of the most jarring things about adulthood is the realization of how many truly incompetent people are in the most important jobs. When I was a kid, I just assumed everyone “important” was smart or they wouldn’t be important. Boy, was that fucking wrong.
Linda Noskova may have done the hardest thing in sport...She choked. She was leading the finals at Wimbledon 6-2, 5-2, and then lost 5 straight games.
It got so bad she put her fingers in her ears to try to drown out the crowd.
And yet, after near collapse, she somehow reset. And won the final set to take home her first Grand Slam title at Wimbledon.
It is INSANELY hard to pull yourself out of a spiral.
Noskova described it as, "My hand kind of froze at the end of the second set. I have never been in such a situation. The pressure was definitely on." When we choke, we revert to being a 6 year old, we're thinking about every movement and it becomes rigid.
Sport psychologist Len Zaichowsky described it to me as, "When we choke, we feel pressure, cortisol gets released, and our thoughts and attention shift to the negative or irrelevant. We start to analyze our automatic responses. And then it's all over." When everything starts to spiral, it's so hard to get out of it. Every piece of evidence is telling your brain to shut down, protect, panic.
So what did she do? She reset.
"I told myself the match was starting over. I went to the bathroom, splashed cold water on my face, and reset everything."
This is brilliant for a few reasons.
1. She changed locations, took a pause. Moving physical locations, even if for just a moment, helps free you up. It's why therapists tell couples arguing to move from the bedroom to the kitchen or outside to take a walk. Our environment invites different states.
2. She redefined the starting line. She treated it like a new game. What happened happened. Can't worry about it. Next play mentality
3. She splashed water.
Most of us try to think our way out of overthinking...Sometimes that can work. But when you're in a spiral, you have to reconnect body and brain. Sometimes, a shock to the system, cold water, slapping your face, can remind you that you're embodied.
It reconnects feeling and doing, while choking severs that relationship.
Cold water in particular has a strong effect. Thanks to the diving reflex, when we splash cold water on our face, it drops our heart rate and gets us to feel more relaxed.
Your brain is constantly reading your signals. When everything around it is screaming stress and spiral, it listens. When you splash water, take a deep breath, smile...you send the opposite signal: we're not dying. It's not over. We're okay.
And finally, "On the last match point, I didn't even realize that I had a match point. I kept going. That's what really won it for me, that I didn't exactly put it into my head."
She's saying she closed it out because she stopped consciously tracking the stakes. She pulled herself out of the over-thinking
It's easy to talk about. Much harder to do. Noskova offered us a masterclass in resilience.

@NoContextBrits His name is London Bridge. Apparently there is another man on top of him. His name has to be London Bridge. No other name is capitalized in your written message.
No clue why Elway is No. 4 but it's actually not a bad list.
Brady won 7 rings and still only led the NFL in a single stat once in those seasons. He was ringless in his statistical prime.
Reggie Jackson delivered one of the most legendary moments in All-Star Game history at Tiger Stadium.🎩🪄
55 years ago today, on July 13th, 1971
In the sixth inning, Reggie launched a towering home run that struck the electrical transformer mounted on the right-field roof while the ball was still rising.
Because it never completed its flight, no official distance was recorded, but most credible estimates place it between 520 and 532 feet.
I was watching; the video does not give this blast its justice!

Every American’s vote should carry the same weight, no matter what state they live in.
