Forced birth in a country with:
—No universal healthcare
—No universal childcare
—No paid family & medical leave
—One of the highest rates of maternal mortality among rich nations
This isn't about "life." It's about control.
We're holding the line against #COVID19 and schools will be OPEN tomorrow, but we still have work to do to keep our numbers down. Here's a look at our current indicators:
•The infection rate 7-day average is 2.74%
•102 patients admitted to the hospital
•1,117 new COVID cases
I urge New Yorkers to exercise caution as a wave of extreme heat impacts the state.
I encourage you to limit outdoor activity, especially if you are more susceptible to heat-related illness.
Remember to wear a mask & practice social distancing at beaches and pools.
Wearing a mask is about respect.
It shows you stand up when it counts. It shows you have joined the battle. It shows you care about your country.
I can’t think of a more patriotic thing.
New York State is one of only 3 states that are on track to contain #COVID.
I can't stress enough how important it is that we don't blow this incredible progress now.
Wear a mask. Get tested. Be smart.

Since reopening, almost half the states have seen an increase in COVID cases.
That hasn’t happened in New York.
Let’s keep it that way.
The pandemic isn’t over and we MUST keep being vigilant.
Looting and criminality is not protesting.
It depreciates the righteousness of the protest.
It plays right into the hands of those who refuse to make positive change.
It allows them to dismiss the entirety of the argument.
NYC is on track to begin reopening the week of June 8th.
We will stay on track by focusing on the hotspots.
We know down to the zip code where the infection rate is higher than average.
We will meet the need where it is greatest.
Reopening does not mean returning to the past. Reopening means moving toward a new, safer normal.
Wear a mask. Get tested. Social distance.
It’s up to us to keep this progress going.
