Every Child’s Safety is our Promise.

This promise took human form in the shape of those Officers who were conferred the Assam Police Sishu Mitra Awards by DGP Shri @HardiSpeaks, today.

These are personnel, whose work does not make a noise, but makes a difference. Those, who stood firmly between children & harm & helped them find empathy, care, dignity and #JusticeForEveryChild when it mattered most.

Special Recognition Awards were also presented to key partners from the Women & Child Development Department, Guwahati Medical College Hospital, and Pragjyotishpur Medical College, whose support strengthens our collective resolve to safeguard child rights across Assam.

Shri @HardiSpeaks, DGP Assam, chaired the Monthly Crime Conference at PHQ to thank everyone for the outstanding progress achieved in 2025 and ensure our commitment to the follow-through in 2026.

We reiterated our commitment to people-friendly policing and a safe, secure, peaceful developed & progressive Assam, in line with Hon’ble CM Dr @himantabiswa’s vision for the State.

Senior leadership including Spl DGP CID, ADGPs SB & Vigilance and Range IGs attended in person, while all District SSPs joined virtually with their GOs and OCs.

Addressed Supervisory Executives from Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) and State Cooperative Banks (StCBs) of the North East at the NABARD Regional Office.

The focus was on the role of strong vigil, coordination and sustained citizen awareness in tackling cyber-enabled and #KYCFrauds.

Stressed on the point that protecting rural financial institutions from financial frauds is not just banking cyber hygiene, it is safeguarding the Nation’s Economic Security, and an essential part of service to our great country & it’s people.

A WhatsApp status showing what appeared to be AK-47 rifles recently went viral, causing concern in the area.

Bongaigaon Police acted swiftly, identified the individuals involved, and verified the content as AI-generated synthetic media.

No real weapons were used or recovered, three people have been apprehended.

Misusing AI to create fear or misinformation is a serious matter and we request everyone to not cross the line with AI (mis)use.
