Good morning from The Hague 🇳🇱
While Europe tries to cripple putin’s war economy with sanction after sanction, Dutch brand Spar keeps opening new supermarkets in russia.
Hundreds of stores. New openings in moscow this year. Sanctioned goods on the shelves.
@SPARInt claims they “can’t” terminate the old licensing contracts. Experts strongly disagree.
Ending the licences would: • Stop brand misuse & normalising aggression • Align with Dutch government policy (“unacceptable to do business in russia”) • Be fully possible under current EU law that better protects companies against russian claims
@ThijsReuten - time to push harder on this.‼️
Dutch brands should not profit from this war.
This must stop. Pls share.
Have a great day everyone.
Keep supporting Ukraine 🇺🇦
@Justin572528134@Real_CMcCormack@Eirealainn2024@TheNotoriousMMA I know what you’re thinking, that these two are small pathetic men with dead-end lives and represent the worst of Ireland…….
And then they come at you with genius one liners!
“Fanny is showing”. Pure class
@damnidc__ Mental illness can strike anyone. To this guy, what he did was perfectly logical at the time. Not motivated by greed or lust. The kids just had to go because they were reptiles.
What’s sad is maybe this guy was a loving father and Antipsychotics might have prevented this.
Marta Kostyuk was asked about the possibility of Russian athletes being allowed into the 2028 Olympics
“My thoughts are that it’s terrible. I think it’s very very far from fair play, for all the countries involved here. Not just for Ukraine. I 100% don’t agree with this decision. I feel like a lot of people spoke out on this issue and they obviously don’t agree as well. I don’t think anything is going to change.
I want to just go out there and hopefully beat every single Russian I play in Olympics, and that’s it.”
@realLangerDan@Ancarnia It’s great - if you are a fella. I think casual Twitter users won’t appreciate the relevance or even the meaning of the word vatnik.
@joni_askola I don’t know what to make of this fellow anymore. Yes he is a real rival to Zelenskyy and potentially Ukraines next leader. But right now, how much is he helping to end the war on Ukraine terms? Is Zelenskyy keeping him at arms length for political reasons?
It isn’t clear to me.
