In 2015, voters approved the one, and only, override in the last 18 years. And what happened? class sizes in the elementary schools dropped. A 3 year plan was extended to 6 through prudent planning and management. Vote Yes on Question 1 on April 6th.

Belmont has passed 1 override in 18 years. In 2010, an override was rejected. Our current BHS Freshmen & Sophmores hadn’t started elementary school. Here is a reminder of the impact from that failed 2010 override on BHS students.

Let’s kick off Friday with some facts - the surge in student enrollment is a main driver for the structural deficit. Costs to provide a minimum level of services are rising faster than our revenues. To guarantee we maintain these basic level of services Vote Yes vote on Apr 6th.

The most fiscally responsible time for this override is now. The financial task force, warrant committee and select board have all unanimously endorsed the override now, because it is the least costly option for Belmont.
